I’m no communications expert, hell I’m not even a strategist.
but wtf, ohmygod, what blithering idiot devised this summer strategy?! I don’t know why they’re wasting time on Senate nonsense. Senate boondoggles are freebies, if you spend effort trying to amplify them, they’re no longer free, and you get diminishing returns, and look dumb while you’re at it.
It’s not hard as the NDP,: “The divide between the rich and poor is higher than it’s ever been, a prosperous middle class is good for the economy. Jobs, more equality, etc. etc. Harper something something big business something something, disdain for ordinary Canadians…”
What the hell, I dont even… strategists? experts? ugh.
Come October 2015, the NPD will lose most of it’s MPs because there will be a BQ resurgence based on Marois’ Quebec Charter of Values, even if it is declared non compos mentis by the SCoC. Liberals will survive because of the anglo-allophone vote.
Mulcair must not only stop a BQ resurgence, he must attack the sizzling Trudeau Liberals, otherwise the NDP will fall back into rump territory behind the Grit’s behind. If the NDP believe they can survive by attacking the Tories and winning over Canadians and Quebecois and by ignoring the Grits, he may be in for a surprise.
100+ staffers in each opposition office, likely a multiple of that in the Conservs, all talking to each other about each other, and getting paid with my party contributions. Apparently ‘news’ is what is said in those conversations.
Their job is to manipulate info so as to control what the people who actually grow the potatoes think. Well, I guess when our local MP’s are just counters in deciding which leader gets all the power, it’s important that everything be centralized where that leader is.
Maybe there is something to Chomsky’s manufacturing consent image. You have to have a staff to do that manufacturing.
Voters are looking for any alternative to Harper. Before Justin Mr Angry was the only choice. Due to Canada’s medieval first past the post system it is a bridge very far for the Liberals to defeat Harper in 2015. However I believe that dippers will vote in mass quantities for Justin. I just hope he does not think it was all about him.
Quite a burn by Karl Belanger

Warren,
Here’s a test that never fails: if you want to spot the political trend — shout Justin Trudeau and Tom Mulcair and watch where the glances go.
