It’s her turn

I’m down with this. Spotted by my old North Van Tory buddy Dennis Prouse.

For good or bad, there are no “turns” in politics. Just ask Paul Martin, Gordon Brown, Kim Campbell, or John McCain.

    • Sean says:

Exactly what I am thinking. Heck, I love the Clintons. Both of them. However the “Turn” idea in politics is hands down the worst reason for a person to be running and frankly it pisses people off more than anything.

  2. Robin says:

Kaplan, don’t forget Bob Dole and George H. Bush, one term only. I agree that nobody is “owed” the position of President of the United States of America, however, if anyone has “earned” it, it is Hillary. If she wins the Presidency in 2016, Tea Partier heads will explode like aliens in Mars Attacks!

Piers Morgan asks Bill Clinton who he thinks would be the better President, Hillary or Chelsea:

Hillary in 2016 sounds good to me!!

  3. Simon says:

Hillary is gonna run as a “red” Republican?

  4. Kelly says:

Doesn’t matter. The Dems and Republicans are effectively the same party. A country that kills its own citizens, engages in torture and actually has senior elected representatives openly and actively working to give more money to billionaires and cut kids off Medicaid is due for a revolution and another Clinton isn’t going to do it. As for Obama, I wouldn’t want his name anywhere near mine if I were running for office south of the border. He’s been an abject failure.

    • Philippe says:

When you dig into details, they’re far from the same party. Dems are pushing bills for gun control (killed by congress & NRA), immigration reform (currently being killed by Congress), education reform, etc.. and are blocked every step of the way by The Republican House. The tea-party loonies are still fighting Obamacare in an obsessive way years later without putting forth any ideas of their own. I’ve never seen anything like it, the tea party loonies are almost twilight-zone’ish. There can be no progress in the US until the Dems take control of both chambers because the carnival moon-barkers in the House only know how to say no.

  5. Philippe says:

Yeah baby. How sweet it will be to follow-up the first Black President with the first female President. She’s already surrounded by a well-oiled, well financed machine of loyalists.. I don’t see a divided Republican party having any chance to stop her.

  6. Corey says:

There are no turns in US Democratic politics… It was her ‘turn’ in 2008 and look how that turned out… beaten by a hardly known first term senator from Illinois. It was Howard Dean’s turn in 2004, Al Gore in 2000, what happened to them??? The Democrats almost always go for the unknown, they go for the movement candidate, the ascendant candidate, not the establishment. Hillary is now part of the establishment. It’s the Republican party that believes in turns. 2012 was Romney’s turn, 1996 was Dole’s turn, 2008 was McCain’s turn, look how those turned out…

  7. Ronald O'Dowd says:

    Warren,

Corey has nailed it. The presidency has already bypassed Hillary’s generation.
