Toronto needs a mayor: surveillance photos of Ford in secret meetings with drug dealer

Ford had an arm of collard shirts in his hand this morning. I’m suspicious this will be his alibi, that it was just dry cleaning Lisi was giving him. Obviously he knows what he will be accused of.

    Devil’s advocate:

Just listening to some of the info regarding the documents, the police observed Ford an Lisi meeting in parking lots ect and exchanging “something”

Could Ford not argue, since I have yet to hear a report where police allege what was in the packages exchanged, it was “just” marijuana?

A couple months ago, Ford said he’s smoked “lots of marijuana”

Keeping in mind of course the media just got the documents and I suspect more will come out that may blow that possible line of explaination out of the water.

Ford doesn’t have to argue anything.
He’s not on trial; Lisi is. And Lisi is on trial for extortion, not selling drugs to the mayor.

For Ford, though, it’s the court of public opinion that’s in session.
And from the evidence it’s crystal clear now that he’s a drug buyer and that Lisi is his mule.
It’s also crystal clear that the police have a video of Rob Ford smoking crack, the existence of which Ford has denied for months.
It’s also crystal clear that Ford’s circle of friends is rife with drug dealers, drug doers, and criminals of all kinds, perhaps even including murderers.

So he’s a criminally involved, drug-addicted pathological liar.

If the citizens of Ford Nation are okay with all that, maybe they could move to Etobicoke, secede from Toronto, declare Ford their leader for life and let the rest of us get back to running a city.

“I answered a constituents phone call and then had to check out his problem – always on the job folks!”

Move along people, these are just photos that have never been seen or do not exist.

This is like one of those episodes of The Wire where the cops are begging the judge to grant them a wiretap or a search warrant. If only!

But yeah, dry cleaning! I always meet with my dry cleaner in the park for a drink a few hours before he slips my shirts wrapped in brown paper into my car when I’m parked at a gas station getting coffee. Happens all the time.

I know it is a distraction, but I keep wondering what was the focus of Op Brazen 1

  7. VC says:

Chief Blair now says that the police do in fact have the video of the Mayor that is consistent with the report (i.e., smoking crack cocaine).

Didn’t it occur to you that this document came from the police. In other words if there was anything illegal Ford has done, he would be already charged? So obviously there is no proof that he broke the law. He probably did -pot is illegal and he admitted he smoked “a lot”- but in this country people are innocent until PROVEN guilty. Otherwise Michael Bryant would be in jail today. For murder. Not “hanging out” with murderers. Which by the way is not illegal, nor immoral, quite the contrary.

    • Aren’t you embarrassed to be apologising for Ford after all his rants and lies? Police Chief Blair says he has watched the video that does not exist according to Ford, and that it was what the Star and Gawker claimed it was. Ford actually called every reporter under the sun a ‘pathalogical liar’ for reporting on his fumbles. In what world do you dwell that this is not a problem?

    • Doug Earl says:

Thomas, who cares if he’s guilty of a crime?

He’s guilty of incredibly bad judgement. Incredibly bad. And lying. And going to great lengths to hide the truth, including at the very least standing by while agents working on his behalf went out with baseball bats to get the video back.

His eventual guilt or innocence on any criminal charges that arise are irrelevant to whether or not he is fit to be mayor. He isn’t, and it is beyond obvious from the facts we have before us. He should resign today and worry about criminal charges later.

  9. ROFL, as if there was any doubt, it appears that the video does exist after all, here is what Blair had to say, according to CP: ”

“That file contains video images which appear to be those images which were previously reported in the press,” Blair said.

The mayor has repeatedly said he does not use crack cocaine and the video does not exist.

Alexander Lisi, a friend of Ford’s, was charged earlier this month with four drug offences. As a result of discovering the video, Lisi is now also charged with extortion and the video will be presented in that case in court, Blair said.

Blair, who has personally watched the video, said it’s believed it relates to events at a home on Windsor Drive. The home is referred to in court documents released Thursday in Lisi’s drug case by a confidential informant as a “crack house.”

“As a citizen of Toronto I’m disappointed,” Blair said. “It’s an issue of significant public concern.””

So the question is, just how brain addled IS Ford Nation? It is still indirect, and who knows when Lisl case gets to trial so the public can get a look at the complete video. Ford could still win. But this IS pretty bad. LOL.

It’s a general rule that politicians are generally smarter than their supporters.

I wouldn’t vote for a politician I DON’T consider smarter than me. Who would? It’s like hiring a mechanic who knows less about cars.

And yes, Ford is smarter than his supporters.

      • Actually, I live in Etobicoke, and there are actually otherwise intelligent people here who ‘believe’ in Ford. Their words, not mine. Realistically, nobody, not even Ford Nation types actually believe him, but they believe in him. No different from extreme partisans anywhere, for whom morals are pliable, and ‘saving the world from itself’ is more important than telling the truth to oneself and others. Once you get in the habit of amorality, I guess it becomes easier.
