Meanwhile… “Ian” from Etobicoke calls in to Bill Carroll’s show to defend Rob Ford… but it sounds like “Ian” is actually Mayor Rob Ford.

  2. Matt says:

    Odd to say the least.

Ford’s lawyer is demanding police publicly release the video. He also has harsh words for police chief and says it is Blair who should be resigning.

Warren, being a lawyer can you answer:

    1) Could Blair release the video, or is in now evidence against Lisi for the extortion charges?

    2) If it is within Blair’s power to have the video released and it indeed shows what the Star reported, is it really a good idea to insult him in the media as Ford’s lawyer does in the above article?

    3) The lawyer says releasing the video is “the best thing for Rob Ford. I wonder if he’s hoping having the video go public is the only way Ford will accept he has a problem to get help?

    4) Is he demanding the release knowing it can’t be released?

It seems that Ford’s defense is the result of what happens to your logic when strung out on crack. It’s a fucking wonderland out there.

Wow. This has gone from ugly to sad.

  4. Todd Robson says:

I bet he and Khloe are splitting up for good ….

  5. Reality.Bites says:

City council needs to go on record with a resolution calling for his resignation.

Why? Because anyone supporting Ford needs to be turfed out of office at the next election.

There was never ANY excuse for supporting Rob Ford. There was never ANY excuse for pretending he was ever anything but what he’s been proven yet again to be – a brutish, violent, stupid, drug and alcohol absusing racist and homophobic thug.

No one can pretend they didn’t know. This isn’t a carefully hidden side to Rob Ford. It’s the ONLY side to Rob Ford.

  6. Ian Howard says:

    Rob Ford is an addict.

He should not be the mayor because he cannot deal with his addiction while mayor.

I don’t know what the real Rob Ford is like and I suspect neither does he.

His politics may well be detestable but first and foremost he is a very sick man who likely will never best his addiction.

    • Quick Question says:

George Smitherman was a drug addict, yet the left wing considered him a viable mayoral candidate. How is it that when someone you like does drugs, you’re cool with it, yet if someone you don’t like does drugs, they should resign from their job?

  7. po'd says:

For all the pinkos out there; “because Robs honest, he’s truthful, he’s like Julian Fantino what you see is what you get, he’s no phony…”

    Encore Don!

Next up, you know the spectacle won’t be complete until we hear from Ez who it seems is being uncharacteristically quiet. Dog ate his talking points??

  8. Paul says:

This is a mess for sure – I ask the question though.. how important is the mayor – he is one of thousands of employees at City, yes suppose to be the leader but I think only has one vote on council, sure the thing is embarrassing but look around the world to see politicians who embarrass their constituents…Italy , New York , London, ON and on it goes

But Toronto is great City – no one I know will not go there because of Rob Ford … his term is up next year – get organized and make sure to vote him out but does media need to sit outside his home like those gossip papers and continually report about him …really the Toronto Star and National Post ..are they not better than that …the Star feels vindicated because there is a video…so what

The world is in economic meltdown , province in deep financial do-do and this is focus

  9. Pipes says:

God man, how worse can this get? I am sorry to think that the end to him will be one of the following or a combination thereof : jail, suicide, or heart attack. This is a shit show of a proportion that can never be wiped clean.

If he had advisors that he really respected and cared about and they him, he would resign and get treatment. The sun will come up for him again but it will look a lot different. He needs a gigantic intervention.

Addicts can weave a very complicated web of continuous deceit, blame others and refuse to take responsibility and he certainly seems to have these characteristics . The guy has got to resign.

The good news, if any is, he doesnt have the codes to the nukes.

As far as the radio show goes, it sure sounds like Ford to me.

    • Lynn says:

I thought the same thing. I consider Stevie, master strategist, Moe and been saying so on other progressive sites. But the kicker for me was yesterday when CBC showed Harper, Flaherty and Ford standing in front of a big cheque for a photo-op — all I could think of — was yup, Curly, Larry and Moe.

If Ford was not such a bombastic, jack a$$, one could almost feel sorry for the guy. I know mental health issues when I see them, and sadly I must agree with those who have advised him, get help. Immediately.

    • Eric says:

but seriously, this mess has nothing to do with federal politics. Your comparisons are no more valid than those nutters that say that Ford should be given a pass because of “all that money wasted on the gas plants” or that “pinko Miller”

  10. Steven says:

To possibly explain why Ford refuses to step down and has Doug and his lawyer biting back, the description of Ford’s behaviour etc. by Mr. Justice Hackland in his decison last November is worth re-reading.

    I would say: bang on.

  11. Darren says:

I’m a professional video producer, and have recorded thousands of hours of voice recordings.

From my perspective, and experience this is Rob Ford. He has put something I front of the mic, and he may have been under the influence, but I’m not sure about that. He’s angry, which can sound like intoxication, so I’m not sure it’s fair to call him drunk.

It’s too bad. I’ll bet Toronto would still elect him if he makes it to the next election date, which may be doubtful.

  12. j.t. colfax says:

People need to throw hot dripping gravy on Ford, everywhere he goes, and behind every bush he pees on. When will the 2nd video/sex tape come out?
