    Oh boy.

Higher energy prices coming. More job losses from more manufacturing plant closures.

    Great news indeed.

Al Gore is a fraud, and Kathleen Wynne is an idiot for having him there.

    • Michael says:

Matt your comment reminds me of someone who knows the cost of everything but the value of nothing.

Is coal fired energy really cheaper, when you factor in the true costs of pollution?

As for plant closures and the loss of manufacturing, you may want to look at the FTA, NAFTA and globalization. Maybe trade agreements are not the panacea conservatives claim them to be.

Matt splain why in coal powered Alberta power costs more than Ontario. Its privatized, it costs more and its choking the people whats with that Matt?

  2. Paul says:

damn I thought it meant free coal…good for Christmas

Great news! What are you talking about you latte sucking, liberal propogandister, governments, well liberal governments don’t do great news they just get in the way of our freedoms and freedom markets and the people being free and impose a lack of choicing because maybe coal is okay and scientists are just making up numbers that aren’t in the bible and so the weather is okay so what’s the problem.

Just thought I’d start the rebuttal early.

Dalton gets alot of credit for this one.

    • Chris says:

Almost all of it – his government was pushing greener energy and less coal reliance from day one if I recall.

      • ottawacon says:

Given how the generation fleet has been pushed off coal by preceding governments, Wynne has done little more than a token symbolic gesture. It would have been far more meaningful to actually go ‘coal-free’. The climate cares little whether the power that Toronto consumers are using is generated by coal generation in Ohio or in Ontario – and the overwhelming majority of the electricity that Ontario imports from the US is coal-generated.

        • steve says:

count the smog days and re think your position. If all the other kids jump of the cliff are you going to follow them because any other course of action would be futile?

          • ottawacon says:

Don’t get me wrong – stopping coal generation is a good thing. But Ontario has already done that. Buying coal power from Belle River and Monroe for example is not exactly going to cut down smog days.

This act has exactly the same environmental effect as Newfoundland announcing they will not use nuclear power any more.

    Excellent news!

  6. Mom says:

We are still using a bit of coal

And the coal that was being burned in those plants is now being exported and burned in coal plants in China. Net reduction in global pollution…zero.

Happy to hear Al is flying in on his private jet from one of his sprawling estates to tell us to conserve energy…

Wynne is deranged. her policies are insane and will bankrupt us.
