I found this wonderful lady on my wall this morning

Now, how do I keep and protect her all winter?

Ladybugs eat aphids. Would you happen to know someone with a greenhouse that would like to shelter such a pretty little pest controller?

All creatures great and small deserve a place under the sun, so here you go:

Burn lots and lots of fossil fuels…allow the exhaust to escape into the air… that will warm up the climate…

  4. Plant a tomato plant in a nice bright window, and maybe find a few aphids on a rose bush or something, or have a close look to see if any house plants already have aphids. An adult ladybird eats as many as half a dozen aphids per day. ( The nymphs are greedy little buggers, they eat between 70 and 80 aphids per day each).

“Now, how do I keep and protect her all winter?” That’s easy! Formaldehyde bath for 15 minutes, let dry for one hour, followed by a nice thick dollop of shellac. Voila! Your welcome. Warning: This technique will not work for certain senators…especially the big ones.

My daughter has kept these through the winter. You need a container with a damp paper towel . And a raisin for food.
