—I remember Joan Bryden when she was a total hipster
And now, this:
“…a crudely named punk band that performed songs with raunchy lyrics.”
We sat near each other in the Calgary Herald newsroom in the Eighties. She was the epitome of coolness and hip. Now, sadly, she favours Barry Manilow Eight Track tapes and old episodes of Family Ties.
Judge for yourself: does this band have a crude name, or raunchy lyrics? Say it ain’t so!

too bad on Joan ..but apeaking of newsroom jobs ..given the hollowing out of the sector .. here is a good sign of things to come …I think whoever fills this job may spend more time in the field than a typical editor ..
Rauchy lyrics and a vulgar name – in a punk band? I damn well hope so. God Save the Queen!
Nothing wrong with Family Ties. She gets total bonus points for that.
