Brazeau, Harb charges coming?

My old colleague Tonda gets the scoop, here.

If true about Mac Harb, very disappointed to see. I knew him when he was an MP, and considered him to be a hard-working constit guy.

Sad.

The RCMP always have a dramatic announcement to make when Harper needs cover for his real agenda.
The government is introducing legislation today to allow for increased corruption in elections and to suppress the votes of marginalized Canadians, but sure, let’s talk about Harb and Brazeau instead…

Yes, Harper has the RCMP in his back pocket. Right.

And the moon landing never really happened, and 911 was a CIA inside job.

      *sigh*

      Whatever.

Tell me about it, it’s just as far fetched as that climate denying socialist fearing nonsense you peddle

        • Al in Cranbrook says:

I can back up the climate change stuff all day long.

And, yes, socialism definitely scares the hell outta me.

Ha you haven’t backed it at all with the “proof” you’ve cited so far. The one link had articles about alien abduction on it and the source couldn’t be cited anywhere else.

        • Al in Cranbrook says:

          Did you even read that???

An aside: I’m reminded of a number of conversations I had with several RCMP constables regarding C-68 and gun registration. To a man, each thought it was a silly waste of time and money. But one added that they don’t say anything because nobody wanted to get transferred to Inuvik.

This government sends thugs to scientific conferences to keep our scientists’ messages in line, they won’t let librarians talk to the press, and they access veterans’ private medical records illegally–looking for material to blackmail those veterans with, but you don’t think that having a secret protocol saying that every single communication from the RCMP must be sent to the government prior to public release, even for operational matters, is a red flag?
            I’m glad that we disagree.

Oh here we got with the impossible to prove anecdotes

Harb isn’t stupid. When he knew charges were likely, he quit the senate to insure his fat pension would keep rolling in for the rest of his life.

    • Agreed, I thought the same thing when all of that transpired. Much better to cut a deal to pay back some money and resign, thus preserving your pension. I’m surprised some of the other senators haven’t followed the same course of action – or is there an issue in that their pensions have yet to vest?

Harb will be fine. Brazeau? Not so much. Hard for a fraud charge to stick if no money is missing. And, I think Harb paid every cent back they thought he might owe. Unless, of course, the charge is unrelated to that money. Breach of trust? Well, kinda hard to beat that one. Then again, I ain’t no lawyer.

Harb worked hard but the organizing the house purchase thingy proved to be too lucrative to bypass for him … me thinks that over the years it may be a fairly common practise …he took it to the extreme…we have had many great parlementarians and senators over the years that truly cared about the country and managing the financial affairs properly – ie they were entrusted with taxpayers money and took it very seriously – unfortunately either we are catching more of them or latest group seems more about self first and country and taxpayer second.. not just federally and not just in Canada.
