Wish the headline were true……got a brand new riding out here with your name on it………

  2. dave says:

Were you looking to become an MP? Or maybe looking for a heck of a lot of fun fighting?
If the latter, howz about your old stomping grounds, Calgary West, or better yet, Calgary Southwest.

  3. Cameron Prymak says:

Run in the riding where you have your cottage.

    That’s what Tony Clement did.

  4. Sasha says:

It’s too early for April Fools.

  5. Sylvia says:

At the Montreal convention and now on CPAC, MP Chrystia Freeland interviewing Lawrence Summers – President Emeritus, Harvard University…. lecturing and sounding like a yankee blowhard pontificating to us lowly Canadians and audience Liberals clapping on cue like seals! Oh the outrage, the suffering of the beleaguered middle class as determined by a USA Harvardian and invoking Clinton and Obama as the “liberal” solution for Canada!

What is this love Liberals have with Harvard professors coming up to Canada and explaining our problems to us, and now we are waiting for the salvation message from Justin Trudeau who presumably has all the economic answers for oppressed Canadians. Talk about #failed optics.

    • Kaspar Juul says:

What’s you’re problem with intellectuals? Anti intellectualism is just another form of elitism

      • dave says:

This intellectual, Lawrence Summers, reminds me a bit of the Chicago School economists who screwed up so many economies. Too much theoretical whimsy, and very little practical experience!

        • Kaspar Juul says:

Does it validate that someone’s opinion shouldn’t count because of where they were educated?

There’s a difference between criticizing an individual and tarring a group of people with prejudiced views towards a school.

I can’t see how some conbots can validate their elitism by claiming others are elite.

      • Matt says:

Well, that particular “intellectual” Lawrence Summers was a very influential voice in leading the charge to deregulate the American financial sector. That deregulation played a big role in the economic collapse in the U.S. in late 2008.

  6. Swervin' Merv says:

Warren knows something about campaigning. NP columnist John Ivison just said at the Liberal policy convention (on CPAC) that the 2003 Dalton McGuinty campaign was “probably the best I ever covered.”

  7. Sylvia says:

Did I hear Justin correctly or incorrectly saying “I was born in Montreal”, at the beginning of his speech to the convention? I’m waiting for a repeat of his speech on CPAC, and unfortunatly I must go through USian Harvardian Summers and his biggest fan Chrystia Freeland interview.

    • Swervin' Merv says:

I was in Ottawa for Xmas 1971 with journalist friends, one of whom got a late-night call to go to the hospital to report on Justin’s birth there, but I expect that he meant tonight that his family home outside of politics was in Montreal.

      • Sylvia says:

Yup, heard him again and he said: “I was born in Montreal…… and was just passing through Ottawa!”.

I guess what he meant was that he was born-again in Montreal, his homeland.

Now we better understand Trudeau when he said he was a “Son of Quebec” in his speech at the leadership convention.

Trudeau associates himself first with Montreal and Quebec, and then of Canada, but only in passing through.

        • VC says:

At least he isn’t advocating for a firewall around Quebec.

        • Kaspar Juul says:

Really Sylvia? Do you get your knickers in a knot when someone from Alberta gets all western separatist on us? Or what if they’re a proud British Columbia.

The only thing that’s evident is small thinking from you.

    • Kaspar Juul says:

Wow what a scandal! You must shut the town down when the milk is past due

  8. Russ says:

Just become a senator and be done with it 😉

  9. Ronald O'Dowd says:

    Sylvia,

Chill out. Canadians, even fellow Liberals, are smart enough to determine our political destiny. Something tells me some people in the PMO and at CPC headquarters have already lathered up as hot and increasingly bothered!

Sad thing to see that surprisingly in the first inning.

    • Sylvia says:

I was just listening carefully to Justin’s convention speech and was taken aback by his deconstruction of his historical birthplace, from Ottawa to Montreal. I can’t see him claiming to be an Ontarian as well, or maybe yes.

      • Kaspar Juul says:

Bollocks! You are rehashing talking points that are over a year old. Please come back when you have something that is actually concerning

  10. Cameron Prymak says:

In the past you said most MPs are unhappy. Did something change?
