Byline: the lib-left takeover – and Chow answers six nasty questions!

I told Lilley I thought I sucked, but I’ll leave the reviews to you guys and the historians.

And, yes, I asked Olivia Chow six of the nastiest, meanest, rottenest questions I could come up with.  If I’d done anything else, the whole segment would have been a waste of time.  Watch to see how she did.

I was only able to catch about 10 minutes of it, but what I saw you were a big improvement over other fill in hosts Anthony Fury and Simon Kent.

Nothing against them, they’re good guests when appearing on shows, they just don’t look to comfortable in the host chair.

You did a good job. You looked a slightly uncomfortable, but you definitely didn’t suck.

To clarify, I thought you were great in the opening, maybe looked a little uncomfortable during the interview.

I am a full blue right winger and don’t agree with you, but you sir get my full respect and admiration, you are not afraid to debate and be a regular on Sun News, one must get the complete picture and you help do that. Your byline was great, the humor in the beginning and just been you. Well done, keep it up.

I’m a small-c conservative, and I’ve long thought that you should have your own show on SunNews. They need some strong commie, pinko, occupy, punk counter-opinion. I appreciate your print articles and appearances, but would love to see more. Too bad you’d probably have to take paycut to leave the private sector and work on Canadian TV.

Loved the letter from Lilley. I always like the way you guys riff with each other when you’re on his show.

I like your opening remarks. I grew up in the 80’s, when the world was pretty conservative, the 90’s were more liberal, back to conservative and so on. Change is inevitable. Always is.

A class act: Chow states that if elected Mayor of Toronto she will donate every penny of her MP pension to charity.

Only saw the segments you posted here, but great strategy to have Olivia answer her critics’ questions directly (while getting in her sound positions on housing diversity, fiscal management, sustaining postal service, improving railway safety, donating personal pensions, stretching transit dollars, and working cooperatively with other parties).

I thought, you and Lisa did well. It was luck that I caught it, as I don’t go to SunNN, often (ever); Lilley’s haircut and persona scare me.

  8. Vankleek Hill says:

I have always had a beef with the term “progressive.” Having my post-university life starting with Bob Rae’s Ontario, and Glen Clarke’s BC, there was no “progress.” Regression, decay, yes, progress, no.

I enjoyed the show. It should be something SunNews seriously considers as a regular feature. Like a few of the other commentators here, I am more aligned with conservative principles. What works for me is to go into any debate assuming that the person I’m arguing with is as smart as me or smarter, that their position isn’t one based out of ignorance or stupidity. It is quite possible for two smart people to disagree about something and still both be smart people. I may not agree with some of the things you say but I certainly don’t think you’re an idiot for not seeing it my way. Putting a Liberal Pinko Commie on the lineup allows people to see something from a perspective they may not be familiar with. If SunNews ever announces the Komrade Kinsella show, I’ll watch it.
