  1. Joe Harrington says:

    Forum, right?

So I guess that means perhaps Andrea did make a good move?

  2. Brammer says:

I would trust chicken entrails over Forum.

  3. Iris Mclean says:

I’m not sure, but to me, it doesn’t look like Mr. Hudak’s personality transplant was successful.

  4. Sean says:

As a Christian and fellow catholic we understand the meaning behind David and Goliath.

  5. Matt says:

Interesting the two traditionally Liberal leaning pollsters, Ekos and Forum both have the NDP at 22%.

I think I’ll wait for a more reputable company like Ipsos or Abacus.

  6. James Bow says:

Anybody who makes predictions this early in a campaign might as well be consulting tea leaves for all the good that does.

  7. Matt says:

    Just thinking:

May 1st – Liberals release their budget which the Toronto Star refers to as “sensible” among other positive terms.

May 2nd – Horwath says she will vote to bring the government down. Toronto Star editorial board rips Horwath.

Toronto Star hires Forum Research to conduct a poll.

May 4th – Toronto Star releases Forum Research poll. Result – NDP way back in third place. Conclusion reached by the Toronto Star -Horwath made a “big mistake” not supporting the budget.

  8. Ridiculosity says:

    Wait. And see.

  9. sezme says:

With all due respect, a newspaper reporting accurately on the results of an opinion survey at the beginning of a campaign is pretty different from a newspaper getting the results of an election wrong. That survey of course might be way off, and it might have been extreme for the Star to put that story above the fold, but it’s just a survey and I’m sure we’ll see many other stories about many other surveys before this election takes place.

Whether surveys should be publicly reported during an election campaign is another matter entirely.

  10. Paul Brennan says:

Honderich needs to get his high end buddies onto the provincial campaign now that he has solved Rob Ford issue

  11. !o! says:

Bit late on this one, but the sampling on the poll is absolutely borked.

69% of respondents in the Forum survey were 55 or older, though only 39% of the electorate is that age. Meanwhile 5% of respondents in the survey were 34 or younger but that population makes up 26% of the electorate.
