    Umm, you’re welcome?

Frankly, I was surprised by the depth of the landslide, and the speed with which it developed. As a political junkie, I recommend a close look at this one. Judy (I’m not even going to try to spell her last name) had such a commanding lead so late into the campaign that she appears to have had a solid lead in the advance polling results. Indeed, she was ahead early on, as those votes were tallied first.

It’s a crude guess, but I think Brian Bowman, Mr. Nine Percent in August, polled over 60 per cent on election day.

Mr. Bowman is indeed Metis; “scot” was thinking of Robert-Falcon Ouellette, another aboriginal and the only other big vote-gainer during the campaign.

    Cheers,

    Bill

I don’t think anyone voted for him because he is Metis. He played the center well, but basically the Chamber of Commerce got their vote out better than the unions did.

    Warren,

As the commercial almost said — you can’t fight human nature. The job becomes routine, even predictable. End result, some people become complacent, even cavalier.

It shouldn’t be like that, and yet it is…

My friend in Winnipeg posted several bad things about Judy Washingmachinelease (sic) on facebook over the last few days which kind of surprised me since up to then she was a big Judy fan. Don’t know what happened to change things though. I do wish Winnipeg and its new mayor, regardless of race or gender, all the best.
