Sadly Warren, as of last Wednesday January 14th at 2:57am, I know the pain of losing my father.
He had some minor back pain in late November which he thought was a pulled muscle from getting the cottage ready for the winter. Went to his doctor, had blood tests and an x-ray, everything seemed normal. But the pain remained and he woke up Christmas morning in extreme pain.
We took him to the hospital. They ran blood and other tests. Blood work was all out of whack – kidneys that were working perfect Nov. 28th were only working 40%, liver markers all elevated.
Long story short, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, adenocarcinoma, that had spread to his liver and lymph nodes in his chest and neck. His kidneys continued to deteriorate, so chemo wasn’t an option as it would have taken at least 3 rounds to have any affect on the tumours. Everything they tried to kickstart his kidneys didn’t work.
I fucking hate cancer. Thanks for letting me ramble.
