(And, for clarity’s sake, I wasn’t denied in the “green light” process – I simply didn’t bother. Life’s too short, etc.)

Here’s one of the things pissing me off about the eve Adams thing:

1) you don’t get green lit because you’ve been critical of the lpc

2) but a conservative mp who’s kicked the shit out of lpc for the past four years does

3) Christine innes doesn’t get to run for the lpc because her husband “bullied” members of the riding assoc

4) but eve Adams does even though there are few ppl in politics tougher than dimitri Soudas.

It’s all bullshit.

It is not bullshit. It is politics. That is all.

On another note Mr. Kinsella…is this more about the LPC getting access to Dimitri Soudas’s knowledge of the CPC then getting Eve Adams to run?

And this is the reason many long-time Liberals are unhappy with Trudeau and his ‘brain trust’. He has just drawn unneeded attention to his problems with and his so-called open nomination pledge. Couple that with the fact that the story is now out in the media that in fact, Adams had been told by the Conservatives she would not be allowed to run, because of her past actions in the nomination process.
Another unforced error by the Trudeau’s advisors and a major face plant him.

Should rewrite the above but you get the idea.

Adams meets with Harper in a hotel room to talk about her possible nomination –

According to sources, she also assured the prime minister that she and her fiancé, Dimitri Soudas, were finished.

The sources said Harper leaned toward Adams and told her he knew Soudas was sitting in the hotel lobby waiting for her. He then informed her that the party’s national council deals with nominations and, with that, the meeting was over.

THIS is what Trudeau has welcomed into the Liberal Party with open arms. How humiliating is THAT?

Good grief what a mess, LOL

    • Nicole says:

Why should it matter who her fiance is? If Soudas is not working for the Liberals or NDP, her choice of fiance should be irrelevant. Women in the CPC tend to be punished very harshly for who they choose to be with (Guergis), whereas people like Bernier, who actually left sensitive material with a girlfriend who had links to biker gangs, gets to stay in the party and after a brief vacation, is back in Cabinet.

This is all insider politics anyway. The average voter will forget about this story by the time the election is called. Adams is not Belinda Stronach and never had her level of public recognition.

      • Lance says:

You’re right, it is insider stuff, and voters probably won’t care one way or the other.

But it IS another example of endemic issues within the LPC and Trudeau that will cost them, whether those voters know it or not.

This is simply more proof that Justin Trudeau can slug it out with the best of them.

Just like that boxing match most bet against him, Justin has his Dad’s drive to battle and he’ll go wherever it takes to win.

I think he might have even learned from an incredible former PM named Jean about how the ‘game’ works and how sometimes you need to play tough.

Harper and Kenny are not happy tonight.

    Trudeau Values:

    Bad: Loyal, life-long Liberal senators.

    Great: Narcissistic, life-long Conservatives.

I sort of see 2 types of responses in general:

    1) If you hate Harper, then Eve is doing this out of principle – regardless of the fact that she was trying to get a Tory seat as late as Jan 29th.
    2) If you like Harper, then Eve is an opportunistic headache and Trudeau made a big mistake.

Truth is probably somewhere in the middle. She may not even win a nomination battle, but I’m sure Justin’s mgmt team will try to get her a spot to run – I don’t think Dmitri gives up any secrets until she has a confirmed place to run.

I wonder what Rob Anders is thinking the past couple of days.
