I remember the day well, and still remember Bob Rae’s non-confidence motion regarding the Tory budget. I was just a few months shy of legal voting age, so had to sit on the sidelines and watch things unfold.

I voted for Clark in 1979 and again in 1980. So I wasn’t exactly thrilled when Trudeau said “Welcome to the 1980s.”
Clark should have bought Social Credit. Seems to me they abstained.
