Conservative voices, Liberal voices

Hard for Libs (principally those in Ontario) to kvetch about this when they have benefitted from this.  Conversely, it will make it difficult for Cons (principally those in Ontario) to kvetch about this when they have this.

Don’t you love it when the universe balances out?

The universe will be one, big, orgy of negativism, never before seen north of the 49th.

I am readying myself for the relentless and repulsive stuff that unbridled, third party advertising will bring to our democracy.

It’s only wrong when the other guys do it.

    Ugh,

The ipolitics article has the most misleading headline going. First. there is no “loop hole” – The fact that anyone can spend whatever they want on advertising outside of an election to go after whoever they want over any issue isn’t something these guys spent hundreds of hours digging through paper work, and legal documents to find. It’s very straight forward, and basically mapped on on elections canada third party spending info.

And second, when it comes to the election, at least on a federal level, the rules on how much you can spend both nationally and per riding are very clear. And trust me, with what these guys can spend during a writ, it would have to be something so creative that every media source in the country picks it up, or their writ spending won’t influence anyone’s voting decision. nadda, zero, zip, zilch.

I know this really doesn’t have anything to do with what Warren actually said, It just bothers me that Ipolitics is trying to scare people with BS headlines. “OH NO! SOME DUDES READ 3 PARAGRAPHS ON THE ELECTIONS CANADA WEBSITE AND NOW WE’RE ALL DOOOOOOOMED!!”
