    Butts shitcanned?

  3. Matt from Ottawa says:

    We’re all ears… or I guess eyes

  4. Ridiculosity says:

I am wowed by the lack of a wow link.

    And that worries me.

Because when you typically say, “Wow!”, it’s definitely worth reading.

This? (good read BTW if it isn’t)

    http://www.macleans.ca/politics/ottawa/the-centre-lefts-divine-right-the-arrogance-of-the-justin-trudeau-liberals/

“Justin’s most politically damaging decision was to publicly fire from his caucus all the senators and party veterans. They demanded nothing more than reassurance that their presence still counted for something. By cutting them off, Trudeau deprived himself of useful wisdom and freely available loyalties.”

    Pretty spot on.

    Or this?

    • Matt says:

Eric at 308 just sold his soul to the CBC.

His analysis should be taken with a truck load of salt from now on.

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

        Matt,

I imagine and will also presume that you are a person with integrity. As such, I think you would never sell out if you joined or worked for CBC.

Try and give Éric the same consideration. He deserves at least that.

    this parrot is dead.

a name instead of a leader. Wow.

It was as if the once unbeatable Liberals were allowing themselves to be guided deeper into the political wilderness, led by a name instead of a leader. A good argument can be made that Justin Trudeau was an agent of change. A better argument can be made that he will be its first victim.

    Peter Newman.

Perhaps, never having toiled at the grassroots himself, Trudeau was unaware of the depth of feeling it generates. The leader who has laboured to establish himself as the voice of the middle class failed completely to appreciate how middle-class Liberals in Eglinton-Lawrence would feel about his choice and his intrusion. It’s far from the first time Trudeau has been shown to be out of step with party members who were labouring on its behalf well before he signed on as leader. That he still hasn’t absorbed the lesson, this close to an election, can’t offer much reason for optimism among the rest of the party rank-and-file.

In a nutshell: Trudeau is out of touch – BIG time.

Wow what??? There ain’t no link

  9. Marc-André Chiasson says:

And in the “Wow” category, did you see that Olivia Chow has just announced that she will be running in Spadina-Fort York?

    • Ridiculosity says:

Marc-André, you may have nailed the wow factor…

      • P. Brenn says:

its all she knows is politics….although did she not land a teaching gig sad really

        • MississaugaPeter says:

Everyone gets a teaching gig at Ryerson.

Sheldon Levy, the president, has done a phenomenal job at Ryerson. The repeated hiring of failed politicians is the only thing I could ever question.

Vaughan sure came out hard against her right away. Can’t be critical of him because he is definitely right this time.

          • torontonian says:

He came out hard against her because he knows she’ll be tough to beat. Chow owns that riding, or at least the part of it she used to represent. (I haven’t checked, but my recollection is that the only wards she won in the mayoralty race overlapped pretty much with her old riding, and she won them decisively.)

A lot of people like Vaughan (and rightly so), but he will be saddled with various sins of his party, most notably Bill C-51. Warren is probably right that there are many parts of the country where Bill C-51 won’t hurt the Liberals, but Spadina-Fort York isn’t one of them.

  10. Smith says:

Did you notice how uncomfortable and detached Justin seemed at that media conference when he and Eve Adams sat together to announce her floor crossing. To me is looked like Justin was wondering “WTH am I doing here with this skank?!”.

Talk about a poison pill/apple/blue koolaid injected into the Liberal body politic …. WOW!!!

    • Jim Walsh says:

To be fair, I am not sure Ms. Adams considered the new company at the press conference an upgrade either. 🙂

      • AAJ says:

Well, she was sure rubbing up to him and even had her hair coiffed in an angelic manner obviously to solicit his acceptance. He looked detached, even a hint of reluctance to welcome the turncoat to his Liberal party. I wonder who convinced him into accepting her and I wonder what he thinks now. His father would have never done it… to turn the lady.

    • Maps Onburt says:

He was uncomfortable because the press gallery was laughing at him. He thought it was a brilliant move.
