Donald Trump is the GOP nominee

As Kory T. and me predicted, months and months ago. My wife lost the bet and owes us a fancy dinner.

Here’s another prediction: he isn’t going to win the presidency. Not even close. And SFH can tell you why!

I hope you are right, but the people seem restless.

By the by-If Ken Vickers took on Donald Trump in a street fight and using prison rules-Vickers would beat his ass. Bring back Ken, we are going to need him.

Considering the odds, and all that was thrown against him…..a hostile party establishment, a hostile MSM(at least during the debates) and numerous faux pas along the way….for him to reign victorious, is somewhat of a miracle……If his Teflon coating remains intact during the no holds barred grudge match to come, he just might pull off a victory yet.

I enjoy watching the GOP implode.

Well to be honest the Democrats aren’t doing real well either. Looks like a major split developing on the D side.

Against Hillary? No contest. He’s going to tear her to shreds. She’s same old, same old… he’s change personified. She’s corrupt and a bald faced liar. He can’t help himself from speaking his mind about any subject (even when he should STFU). American’s are not happy with the current bunch and seem fed up with the status quo. Hillary (and her Republican brother Jeb) are the poster children for that.

Do I like the idea of a Trump presidency? Not at all… Reality TV isn’t a good way to elect the leader of the free world but who are we to judge… we just elected a part time drama teacher/bouncer as our PM.

You might be right–obviously the rest of the world hopes you are–but after tracking American blogs and op-eds across the spectrum for several months, I am surprised at how unpopular and distrusted Hillary is among many Dems, independents, etc. Sanders also has a base of angry white men and his scorched earth campaign is a big problem for Clinton and will continue to be until the convention. The assumption that Americans will come to their senses about Trump and go with the tried and true, more sane candidate ignores the fact that, through many American eyes, it’s a contest between a dangerous nut and a corrupt liar. There’s seems to be a widespread spirit of nihilism on both sides. Not good.

Agreed Peter. The same folks have been saying the same things about Trump since he was at 1% in the polls. The guy seems to be a teflon steamroller. It would only happen because of the weakness of the other candidates. It’s a sad state of affairs when the best they can do is a worn out full on socialist has been, a liar and a buffoon.

It is terrible that the marginalized, the dispossessed, all those not enjoying membership in the good life should support a candidate who promises to change things for the better for them. What is particularly galling is the way that an upstart has used the media against the political interests of the natural ruling class of America.
We are all much safer if America sticks to what they have always had: government of the people, by the plutocracy, for the plutocracy.

What’s terrible is that they are falling for a conman. I’m no fan of the establishment, but that doesn’t mean every alternative is better?

      • Peter says:

Of all the derogatory epithets that could be thrown Trump’s way–and there are many–I think the most inappropriate is con-man. The man speaks his mind so sincerely it’s scary.

    Warren,

Lisa owes you both a dinner…hope she suggests The Waldorf if you lose the next round. IMHO, Trump wins. Why? Clinton will win with women, African Americans and other blacks, along with Latinos. But she will lose independents, probably by a record margin. Unless the Kinsellas leave pronto for the US of A!
