Proud that Trudeau is my Prime Minister

He should’ve taken Mark Adler along like the last PM.

… Mark’s got an eye for the “money shot”.

    • nobonusfornonis says:

that is a really shitty thing to write. you remind me of the con moron who thought the “work will set you free” sign over the entrance of that horrible shithole was a phallic symbol. you should have suggested the ward news assholes be sent over for the “money shot.”

      • Bryan says:

It was not a con moron. That was an NDP moron, Alex Johnstone, who then claimed she “didn’t know what Auschwitz was”…

          six of one

          • bluegreenblogger says:

actually, that was pretty close to totally made up. Alex Johnstone was commenting on a photo of the distinctive Lamp-posts at Auschwitz, that the lamp posts were phallic in nature, (which they weren’t). She subsequently claimed she had never heard of Auschwitz, or the holocaust, so her flip comment was un-intended. Which was probably ten times as controversial as her original comment.

      • Francis says:

First of all, that was a Dipper who astonishingly had no knowledge of Auschwitz despite being a school trustee.

Second of all, this isn’t even comparable.

Third of all, I don’t know what the hell you’re getting your panties in a knot about. I made reference to an incredibly callous remark previously made by a Conservative MP when he was in Jerusalem on official visit with the former PM. My comment was meant to contrast Justin Trudeau’s sincerity versus that previous incident.

Fourth of all, learn how to capitalize your damn sentences. For a person who constantly posts disjointed replies here, you type like a 12 year old with no computer skills. Maybe you should brush up on that before you fly into diatribes of faux indignation.

  2. Eric Weiss says:

I would be more proud if he went without the media.

    • Vancouverois says:

      Bingo.

And while it’s appropriate for him to pay his respects, but I don’t see how he deserves any special credit for it.

      • The Doctor says:

Exactly. It’s pretty much expected of any major Western politician who visits that part of the world.

      • smelter rat says:

I think anytime the leader of the country takes the time to publicly demonstrate, even in a small way, that we need to remember the horrors we humans inflict on one another he/she deserves credit for it.

        • The Doctor says:

Yeah, I’m sure you praised Harper every time he did stuff like that.

          • smelter rat says:

Harper never did anything that wasn’t for show or to his benefit, or to the benefit of the trolls who were his hangers on. He was the most insincere PM I’ve experienced in 63 years.

          • The Doctor says:

Yes, Justin — in stark contrast to Harper, never does anything for show or for the benefit of the trolls who are his hangers-on. A simple look at JT’s facebook followers clearly demonstrates this.

  3. Ronald O'Dowd says:

    Warren,

Don’t PMs go to such places for the memory of the victims? That’s as it should be.

  4. Kevin says:

Me too, and I have all sorts of respect for anyone who can go there. I tremble just thinking about it. Have been all over Europe many times for work, and have avoided going near any of those places. The closest I ever got was to the edge of what remains of the Warsaw Ghetto. I had to turn back. Maybe one day I’ll find the strength.

    • nobonusfornonis says:

brave of you to admit that. i would collapse at the sight of Bergin Belson and can only imagine the horror of those who perished there.

      • Ridiculosity says:

I have a very good friend who travelled to Paris recently. Before he left, I mentioned that the city has a very fine museum (and memorial) devoted to the Holocaust. He looked at me aghast and stated firmly, “Never. I start to cry before I even read the overview in the travel guides.”

  5. cash says:

Justin’s father fought for freedom during WW2 – in Montreal.

  6. dean sherratt says:

I wasn’t so taken with another quotation offered up for Trudeau “Humanity must learn to love our differences” which in this context was rather lamentable, weak and insufficient. But, he had other more acceptable things to say and I’m certainly of the view that it was right and appropriate for the PM to be there.
