And here I almost had an iota of respect for Cruz and his display of dignity.

Nothing like endorsing a guy who called you a liar, your dad a murderer and your wife ugly in front of millions of people.

Today’s state of Republican self-respect at its finest.

  2. Richard says:

All the fortitude and integrity of a wet noodle. Trump insulted Cruz’s wife and insinuated repeatedly that Cruz’s father was involved in the Kennedy assassination. Gutless.

  3. P. Brenn says:

OMG …the high foreheads in the republican party ended up with a slate of crazies to pick from ..the two nuttiest made it all the way to the end

  4. Brace Ourselves says:

Cruz may be afraid. If Trump wins, unlikely he’ll be kind to adversaries. and, …2020 looming….Republicans seem to like &/or support Trump. If Kasich falls in behind & supports Trump, God help us.

  5. Steve T says:

I’m somewhat proud to be from Ohio, where John Kasitch seems to be the only remaining Republican with any shred of backbone or decency. I’m hoping he doesn’t prove me wrong before the election.

Note also that John Boehner is from Ohio, and he dropped out of the sillyness early on, expressing his frustration with the partisanship and goofyness of this election’s Republican slate.

  6. Ronald O'Dowd says:

    Warren,

When Cruz didn’t endorse at the convention, that said more about Trump’s seemingly lack of merit than his. To endorse this late in the cycle says more about pressure, and compliance geared toward personal political advancement. In short, Cruz’s actions take him out of the race for future political consideration rather than have the opposite effect. Somebody has kidnapped the real Cruz. This guy has become just a face in the GOP crowd.
