Liar, liar, Pence on fire

I’m sorry, Warren, but this is what’s so smarmy about politics and politicians. Even in those clips, Kaine is clearly charging Trump and Pence as calling Putin a “great leader.” Yet, in the “proof” both say he is a “strong leader.” There’s a big freaking difference. I know that, you know that. Of course, the average joe doesn’t apparently know that, which is why politics is so smarmy.

    Have a strong day.

Pence only needed to do one thing to win or at least perform well in the debate. That is, be everything Trump isn t: quiet, thoughtful, measured and not rude. Kaine was more like Trump: loud, reactive, and constantly interrupting. So let’s get our partisan hats off and call it like most pollsters called it: a narrow Pence win.

Like everything that Kaine said was remotely true as well… pot, meet kettle. His name does make for a good tweet though but only Hillarites will care and it won’t move ANYONE.

I had the debate on tv (between switches to ‘the game’) and I followed a couple of twitter threads. I noticed right away and throughout, Kaine’s willingness to interrupt often and at length.
The high point was when he handled the female moderator. He was great, – patriarchal finger wag, his patronizing “Elaine, this is important.” (She could not be expected to know what was important), his ongoing comments. This moment exploded on the twitter threads I was on.

Pence was a smooth cat last night.

    Kaine was over-caffeinated.

A slight blip for Trump, just like the Republican convention, before another tumble on Sunday.

Here’s the take away from last night:

A charming midwestern conservative Republican attempted to spend 90 minutes fabricating an irreconcilable reality in which Donald Trump existed in name only. Sadly, no such world exists and we have records, videos and direct quotes from Donald Trump that made Mike Pence’s oh-so gallant efforts in vain.

The larger narrative here is that Trump has set too many fires in his own boat for even Pence to save.

Predictably, the Trump campaign is falling spectacularly; proving once again that the biggest threat to Donald J Trump is Donald J Trump.

Sorry WK – you won’t want to hear it, but Pence won on class alone. Not commenting on the race, just that debate between two candidates. Kaine didn’t come close to Pence on points and the moderator was the pits.

  8. Steve T says:

Kaine was a remarkable facsimile of Trump, with his interruptions and rudeness. It was actually somewhat embarrassing.

One key difference, however. Kaine was just a rude interrupter, whereas Trump was a rude lying interrupter. Let’s hope the electorate sees the importance of that difference.
