Warren —

Over the last few months, we’ve seen something remarkable:

From the Women’s March to airports across the country where communities are welcoming immigrants and refugees to town hall meetings in every community, Americans are speaking out like never before.

I believe more fiercely than ever that citizen engagement at every level is central to a strong and vibrant democracy.

To support this wave of grassroots organizing, we’re launching Onward Together, an organization dedicated to advancing the progressive vision that earned nearly 66 million votes in the last election. Onward Together will work to build a brighter future for generations to come by supporting groups that encourage people to organize and run for office. I’m so grateful to everyone who has reached out to say that you’re still fighting for the values we share. Will you add your name to let me know you’re with us?

Since November, I’ve been doing my fair share of reflecting, spending time with friends and family — and yes, going for long walks in the woods.

I’ve been particularly inspired by everyone who has stepped up to lead in this crucial moment for our country, and so I’m proud to announce Onward Together is beginning by supporting five groups leading the way.

At Swing Left, experts from the tech, media, finance, nonprofit, and arts industries are working to take back the House in 2018 by mobilizing volunteers in swing districts, where votes will count the most. The team atEmerge America has doubled down on finding, inspiring, and training their most diverse slate of Democratic women yet to run for office and start to close the political ambition gap. With more than one million members, Color Of Change leads national accountability campaigns to fight for criminal justice reform, voter freedom, fairness and accuracy in the media, and other critical issues of racial justice. Hundreds of thousands of people have made their voices heard thanks to Indivisible, an effort led by former Congressional staffers who are using their expertise to help ordinary people reach their members of Congress. And since two former campaigners announced the creation of Run for Something on Inauguration Day, more than 9,000 young people have signed up to run for local office to make real change in their own communities.

In some cases, we’ll provide direct funding to these organizations. For others, we’ll help amplify their work and do what we can to help them continue to grow their audiences and expand their reach.

If you’re committed to standing up for a fairer, more inclusive America, add your name to join us right now. We’ll be in touch about how you can support these groups and more like them. There’s no time to waste.

The challenges we face as a country are real. But there’s no telling what we can achieve if we approach the fights ahead with the passion and determination we feel today, and carry that energy into 2017, 2018, 2020, and beyond.

Onward!

She’s at DECON 2 -political force ready to deploy and engage. Then DEFCON 1 impeachment is imminent.

    MORE Hillary, eh? Heh…..

Is she under the impression that Trump’s forthcoming demise will open the door to her return? Because I have to say, I am not remotely enticed by the thought of Hillary Clinton preparing for a reemergence as a key figure in the Democratic Party or the progressive movement.

What happened to Hilary Clinton sucked, but its where we stand today. She cannot be the female figure she worked to be over the past 2 decades going forward; it is imperative that someone else, someone new, take that role. Her sustaining grasp on the public stage is going to be a drag on the left and this PAC feels like the co-opting of an authentic reaction to Donald Trump as a way of maintaining that presence.

I think it would be far more beneficial for Democrats and progressives to internalize the shock and anger of what happened to Hilary and use it to inject new energy into the fight against the Republicans rather than continuing to miscast Clinton as an equivalent figure to Obama

I would believe this if the wall-street people didn’t have a hand in all of this – long live the status-quo – NOT

    Warren,

I had a spirited but respectful disagreement with a fellow poster at the late Threehundredeight.com. This initiative absolutely comes as no surprise to me! My argument was that Job One for Hillary was to stay politically relevant and wait for Washington to inevitably burn under Trump mismanagement. (We are already way beyond that level of mismanagement. It happened faster than I expected.) My view was that she should challenge de Blasio, who is unpopular, in the NYC Democratic primary. IMHO, if she runs, she wins.

My view makes my fellow poster think that I’m crazy. I may be nuts, but Hillary remains both a force of nature and crazy like a fox.

      Warren,

Hillary told The Los Angeles Times on April 6, 2017, that she doesn’t intend to run for elected office again […]

In politicalspeak, the door is definitely closed but is it locked?

So, anyone under 70 wanna step forward and lead the Dems? I don’t think this helps the party, the opposition, or the country.

  7. Lee Hill says:

Thanks for some encouraging information when it seems that news about genuine progress and resistance gets lost in the fog of rolling and breaking news. On a somewhat related note, does trolling as “JohnnyWhackJob4” pay very well. Does it come with benefits? Or is it a zero hours contract…or is it just a zero ground game intellectually and morally. This inquiring mind wants to know.

  8. Gyor says:

If Hillary wants to help the Democrats she will retire.

  9. Long-time Reader/First Time Poster says:

Warren, for weeks, you’ve been making a very valid argument in a number of posts the road for success for Democrats is to find a way to become relevant again for the disenfranchised rural and small town (and mostly white) voters who simply saw no alternative but Donald Trump in the last election. The return of Hillary Clinton achieves nothing of the sort. It’s a continued failure of Democrats and Team Hillary to acknowledge the issue, and what needs to be done.
