   Why is this a controversy?

   If he invited reporters to his engagement, and they showed up, then thats a win for Jagmeet. Trudeau has made his personal life open for public consumption and we and the media eat it up. Why would Jagmeet try to do the same thing? Probably a smart idea given that he completely fell off the map as of late.

   With that said, I don’t personally understand the obsession people have with this kind of stuff. There was a two week long discussion alone on whether Jagmeet’s Rokha ceremony was an engagement or not.

   If he baited the media and they took the bite, what does that say about how malleable the media is?
