Um

Can someone in Canadian media explain why no Canadian media are covering this?

Actually Warren, you have a link top right to a CBC News story on this.

  2. Peter says:

Maybe because going all shocked and appalled over the latest thing he says is just so 2017. I’m actually semi-charmed that he admitted it so openly and said Trudeau was right.

  3. Adam says:

Maybe because we’ve all become so accustomed and inured to Trump’s idiocy that any new examples, however outrageous, are better known as “a day ending in the letter Y”.

  4. Sean McLaughlin says:

I’ve been exiled to Trump Country and understand that many of you may not share this perspective, but for me the most important Canadian ballot question in 2019 is how much confidence we have in JT’s handling of el presidente. I can’t think of a more vexing peacetime foreign policy challenge the country has ever faced.

  5. Matt says:

Everyone knows Trump lies. Everyone knows when services are factored in the U.S. has a big trade surplus with Canada. The newsworthy part of the story is he admitted he was making up “facts” about the situation.

But given what Trudeau did a couple weeks ago sending his national security advisor out to claim the Indian government sabotaged his trip, without any evidence, perhaps they need to check their moral outrage and climb down off their high horse.

Because they’re too fuckin’ pre-occupied with depicting Sikhs as a community of boogey-men.

Low-key bigotry is apparently in vogue with the [mostly white male] Canadian media right now.

    • Peter says:

Don’t tell me those angry old white guys are behind that too? Geez, for a bunch of geezers, they sure seem to have a lot of energy.

      • Charlie says:

They’re quite a prolific group of people.

I guess the energy is necessary when you’re fighting to maintain a quickly diminishing dominance in public society.

        • Peter says:

Yes, but I said on an earlier thread, when they finally all die off, you may find they’ve been replaced by a whole new crop.

    • Matt says:

No, what you’re watching is the Liberals trying to bury Singh over his Sikh extremist connections in an attempt to get people’s attention drawn away from Trudeau’s Sikh extremist connections.

  7. Michael B says:

Mostly white male!? What channels are you tuning into?

  8. Matt says:

WTF? Did I hear this right?

There is now a report that Trump made up the meeting/call with Trudeau where he says he made up the trade stats???

  9. Fred from BC says:

Hmmm…from Don Lemon via the Washington Post?

I’m gonna guess that maybe people now consider WaPo and CNN to be just as about credible as Donald Trump himself. They’ve thoroughly trashed their own reputations and public trust in them is frighteningly low.

    • Sean McLaughlin says:

Wapo is pretty much the gold standard for political reporting here these days. It’s the first thing I go to in the morning and it feels bloody terrific to actually be paying for a newspaper again.

      • Fred from BC says:

I suppose if months of “Russia! Russia! RUSSIA!!!…(ooops)…” is your idea of a ‘gold standard’, then sure. Lying about Trump Jr. and Wikileaks is okay with you, as are fake pictures of a Trump rally in Florida? How about the DC school graduation rates scandal? Are you old enough to remember Jimmy, the 8-year-old heroin addict?

All news media seems corrupt to me now.

(and don’t even get me started on CNN)
