#LavScam truth – the whole truth, and nothing but

As I said on the great Newstalk 1010 this morning: why isn’t Trudeau letting Jody Wilson-Raybould speak about the period after she left Justice?

We know Trudeau spoke to her many times after they fired her from the Attorney-General post – he’s admitted he did.  So, is Trudeau and his inept PMO making an effort to cover up what they had done?  Is Trudeau trying to hide the truth, still – namely, that they wilfully interfered with the prosecution of a corrupt crony, punished a proud Indigenous woman for not going along, and are now scrambling to cover up the cover up?

As per that Watergate maxim: it’s not the break-in that kills you.  It’s the cover up of the break in that kills you.

Speaking the truth often comes at a personal cost. If JWR doesn’t want to pay that cost, that’s her call to make.

  2. Ronald O'Dowd says:

Are they really THIS stupid? Hasn’t it crossed their minds that without blanket immunity that JWR will spend her entire thirty minutes raking them over the coals??? Simply incredible…

One person has information to criminally indict the govt but doesn’t want to share it for fear of being disbarred. That’s a small price to pay for saving the country. She will get work someplace else. Why hang on to a law career when justice is being compromised? Seems like misplaced ideals.

    • Warren says:

That’s fucking bullshit. There’s a way for her to tell the truth and remain a (respected) lawyer.

You are relying on Trudeau and his band of neophytes to do the right thing? That’s not going to happen. When Oct rolls around and the Liberals have obfuscated this all, shored up Quebec votes and stand to take a majority again, we will look back and wonder if one lawyers career was worth it the destruction of the country. Alberta wont stand for another Liberal term. So choose your poison.

        • Derek Pearce says:

Or what? Alberta’s going to separate? Lol. I’d say don’t let the door hit your ass to that province but even that would be fantastical.

          • not 1st says:

Obviously you don’t know too much about your country. Ab is the only net payer into confederation. What are you going to live on if they leave? Quebec engineering firms? Buddy you are both blind and arrogant.

          • Ronald O'Dowd says:

            not 1st,

Apparently, there is little appetite in AB to either separate or join the States.

I’ve been repeatedly told that they remain proud Canadians.

          • Chris says:

We in Alberta are not so proud these days as the Butts/Trudeau portion of the Liberal government is doing everything it can to destroy Alberta’s economy (either intentionally or accidentally). We in Alberta are assuming 90% of Canada’s efforts to reduce Carbon Emmissions, even though our energy industry is only responsible for about 20% of Canada’s total emmissions. We are losing homes and retirement savings and jobs. Other Canadians are paying a couple cents per litre at the pump (Ontario hydro customers assume the remaining 10%).

          • Sam White says:

I love it when guys like Derek make comments like this. It’s almost as good as eastern politicians opining that Albertans should stick to simple things like municipal politics, a “bunch of farmers” should not be in charge of the richest resource in the nation and my personal favourite: “Canada isn’t doing well right now because it’s Albertans who control our community and socio-democratic agenda. It doesn’t work.”

            Keep it up..

    • cN47 says:

Agreed. If this story wasn’t reported by the media, JWR would still be in cabinet and the public would be completely unaware of the alleged crime.

Perhaps, she’s waiting for the right time and place to play her cards. Wait and see, I guess.

Have to wonder what big contract coming down the “pipe” the feds wanted to award SNC.

  5. Derek Pearce says:

This will be delicious– she’ll spend half the time saying “the Prime Minister has not waived privilege on that matter” and he’ll look even worse.
Advice to the PMO: just rip the bandaid off and let her speak freely to the committee. How dumb are they?

  6. BMarcille says:

I am hoping and praying that she states that legal counsel has advised her that she may address any of the statements given by her client (PMJT and his court) as they have surrendered client privilege by speaking. I doubt it, but it would be nice.

The alternative, is for her to state over and over again that the she would like to discuss details of conversation such-n-such, regarding SNC, but cannot. That will send the PMO and the media into respective frenzies.

  7. Stephen Wood says:

Warren you must be watching this!!! JWR testimony…
HOW THE HELL Can Trudeau not resign?

  8. Grant says:

Warren: I am not a lawyer so I ask you. In your opinion, if what she has been saying is true, have the actions by the PM and PMO crossed the line into illegal territory?
