Yeah, logical, right up there with suspending all travel between europe and the USA

As there’s currently no herd immunity built up, combined with no vaccine available for around a year, and how viral loads can shed even when the host is healthy, the NBA is doing the right thing as a precaution.

      Quarantines work.

I’m sure Italy wished it had done exactly the above mentioned, and more, about three weeks ago…..

Feb 20/2020 One case testing positive for CoVid19
      March 11/2o2o 12,462 cases with 827 deaths.

If my calculations are correct, thats about a 6.6% death rate…not insignificant.

We have an advantage over Italy…..space, and lower population density. But I think it is better to err on the side of caution, slowing the spread of the virus, allowing time for people to educate themselves, and preventing panic.. Id hate to be in many Italian doctors shoes deciding who gets the limited respirators and who does not….in effect, in many cases, deciding who lives and who dies. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the common good. Missing a few sports games or that trip overseas wont kill ya…..but CoVid19 just might do in your nan or grandpa…..

Yet our health minister goes from low risk to 30-70% will be infected.

  3. Paige says:

    37,000,000 Canadians, x 70% infection rate, x 3.4% death rate. 880600 dead .
    Thanks Patty
