One year

A month ago feels like a lifetime, now. Twelve months – twelve months today – feels like an eternity.

Anyway. Loved her, loved being married to her, loved every moment: she carried my heart. Don’t know exactly where she is, but I hope she’s okay.

Life is fleeting – more than ever, now – but true love is not.

Hold onto both.

And besides, one must never quite deliberately lose oneself just to make the other party happy. Mutual compromise, concessions, always. Forfeiting one’s own personality and sense of self, no way.

Know exactly how you feel. I wrote pretty much the same thing on July 24, 2004. It gets better. Much better.

The late, great, Warren Zevon said that we should enjoy every sandwich. As we go around the sun a few times, we will have good times and hard times. We will laugh, and we will cry. Divorce is tough, been through it myself. It will make you mad, and sad, and empty. But you can get through it. Be strong. Sometimes it will be overwhelming, but you have to try to overcome it and carry on. Best wishes & good luck with it.

      In my song making and heart breaking days I wish I wrote this;

The power of love is a curious thing
make a one man weep, make another man sing
Change a hawk to a little white dove
more than a feeling, that’s the power of love

It’s strong and it’s sudden and it’s cruel sometimes
but it might just save your life
      That’s the power of love
      That’s the power of love

You may not like this, but I’m speaking from experience.

If someone’s interested in you while you’re currently in a marriage (and still living with your spouse) – they’re probably not the best choice if you’re looking for a long term partner.

I’ve also seen this, many times.

    Cheers

So where did things go wrong and if you could do it all over again, would you make changes?
