April’s distance brings May’s existence

My Birthday is in April, that is, if I live long enough. You never know.

Can anyone here tell me why anti-bacterial soap and wipes are now as scarce as hen’s teeth and we are lathering ourselves with them when we find them? Everything I’ve read suggests that, unlike bacteria, the virus isn’t alive and can’t be killed. It can only be removed or broken down and apparently regular soap and hot water are better for that. Yet Purell is everywhere in institutions and the shelves are bare. What gives?

I said the same thing to people! Water is free and soap is almost free, and they are (hopefully) in every house. Why not just use that?
