Give them all ’till midnight Monday to clear out.
Otherwise send in the army to gather them up and drag them all to jail.
That’s a recipe for a massacre, for the crime of fighting for human rights. The Freedom Convey had nothing to do with this, there is absolutely no benifit to them and it’s not in character for them.
1. We are talking about people who already have no regard for their own safety.
2. What human rights?! There are no human rights that have been infringed upon as a result of the pandemic. The entire fight is fake, fake, fake.
But screaming obscenities at health care workers, trying to bully food bank workers into giving them free food and depriving innocent people of sleep by blaring horns 24/7 and waving Confederate flags . . . that’s totally in character for them.
Not a military responsibility. This is a job for the police.
It sure was a military responsibility during the FLQ crisis and we are in a very similar situation now.
Doctors are afraid to go to work. Ambulances are being blocked. At the doorstep of the elected legislature. This is beyond local / regional policing policing and deserves a national response equal to the problem.
Like comparing apples to toe nail clippings, zero kidnappings, zero murders, zero bombs being detonated in public places. If the arsonist are part of the truckers then deal with them in a legal matter. The FLQ crisis ended but the use of the War Measures act has left a bad taste in Quebec’s mouth that is as fresh as the day it was fed to the Quebec people.
My God, who are these people? More than likely or perhaps certainly not truckers. I hope the Ottawa Police Service is on their toes because you can’t get more serious than this.
Trudeau un when asked “How far do you intend to go” in reference to dealing with the FLQ crisis said “Just watch me!”

I’m sick of this crap.
“FREEDOM”. These miscreants have absolutely no idea about freedom and about those who wore the cloth of this great nation and sacrificed themselves on the alter of freedom, fighting for those who could not fight for themselves. These POS think freedom includes defecating on the streets, breaking, entering, attempted murder, oppressive violence, dancing on the war memorial, stealing food from those who have none, defacing our true national heroes, callously infecting others with a deadly disease and a myriad of other noxious behaviour. They have no concept of the responsibility free people have to respect and it and protect it. Each time one of these clumps of excrement cry out “freedom” all they do is trivialize it. Maybe they need some prison time. I wonder if they realize the consequences of a criminal record and border crossing.
I never had to fight for freedom, it was given to me by those who suffered greatly and those great souls must be so disappointed in us.

Absolutely. Bang on.
I find that ever since the rise of the alt-right, Limbaugh-style talk radio in the US and Trump, there’s this idea of “freedom” embraced by the hard right that’s simply childish. It’s freedom and indulgence utterly without responsibility or any regard for the interests of society or your fellow human being. Talk about giving conservatism a bad name.
And thoughtful, serious conservatives in the US like Charlie Sykes have noted this. Classical conservatism was not like this. George F. Will nailed it — it’s “crybaby conservatism”.
Of course, they can’t be truckers because truckers are the salt of the earth. We are judged by the company we keep and the truckers are keeping some pretty unsavoury company.
I saw some real truckers today…. Making deliveries.
If I were Trudeau, I might comment that their actions are “understandable”
But I’m not. Investigate, find them and charge them.
