KINSELLACAST 229: Adler, Lilley, Kheiriddin, Belanger on storms, political and otherwise – plus Needles//Pins!

  1. Warren,

MAGA Republicans and their supplicants like DeSantis and Abbott never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity — it’s in their DNA. Those fools simply aren’t bright enough to realize that the United States IS NOT a 50-50 country. It’s independents first, followed by Democrats, with Republicans coming in a poor third at approximately one-third of the country.

  2. Warren,

What Lilley is talking about is music to my ears. It’s very smart politics and conduct like that will at minimum, buttress CPC polling numbers.

Mulroney likes progressive conservatives but is polite and cordial to all others. Obviously, PP’s conduct impressed him and that’s significant internal step forward.

    • However, it’s far more important to remain in constant contact with Harper. It’s his party in the end and he knows it up and down, left and right and sideways. Put another way, Harper’s advice will be most helpful to keep this party together. Not so much of a benefit when it comes to election strategy but his voice needs to be heard on that as well.

  3. Biden in 2024: that decision rests almost solely with Dr. Jill Biden.

  4. Adler is dead on. But people don’t believe the truth. They believe what they themselves have psychologically conditioned themselves to believe. To wit: the MAGA Republicans. So Pierre going forward has to weigh every single idea, policy and word that comes out of his mouth. All of the above must be election-smart.

Loved the Needles//Pins-shades of the Clash and Social Distortion. Put them on the playlist that only I listen to. Tracks stumped Shazam.

The reason PP’s outreach can’t be minimized is that it takes one narrative off the table. Media have been declaring how can PP possibly bring the party together after his scorched earth policy in the leadership campaign. Looking forward to the revisions and extensions of their remarks but I won’t hold my breath. They will collectively decide this is not a story. So good on Brian Lilley for reporting it. PP’s scorched earth policy, by the way, was exaggerated if anyone actually listened to his rallies as his lead was confirmed but why would anyone do that? Yes, that is how he started out but what else is new in leadership campaigns. Now that the fractured Tory party seems to be off the table, it will be interesting what the media pivot to next. Tough call, do they say he is throwing the “crazies” under the bus with this outreach or do they double down that he is too far to the right(which is nonsense).

  7. Warren,

Damn, it’s too bad that Mraz is in Africa because this is a doozy: reports are slowly starting to trickle out that American and British military “advisors” are on the ground in Kviv. Couple that with the Nord Stream boom booms and if all of the above is true, it’s a definite escalation of the Ukrainian war.
