  1. Warren,

Champagne was a person who, to put it charitably, was laterally moved from Foreign Affairs. And Champagne lost the ministry battle to block the Rogers takeover of Shaw so meh.

    • I expect Morneau to eventually resurface and take a run at the leadership. The Bay Street candidate.

Ronald, I don’t dislike Frankie Bubbles(great nickname-have to love the nicknames) at all. Seems to have been around the horn enough to know what he doesn’t know(so important). A PM gig would not be his first real job. He doesn’t come across as a smug and arrogant know it all. There is nothing wrong with being smug and arrogant if you have the chops to back it up but JT and most of his cabinet do not but that doesn’t stop their lecturous we know better nonsense. He also strikes me that he is a happy warrior. Like PP. Has a smile on his face most of the time. The stuff you are complaining about means that maybe he won’t get your vote but it is inside baseball stuff.
Morneau(a massive disappointment) would be just more of the same.

It would be so refreshing to get back to the days when the PM was someone who didn’t grate on you every time he opens his mouth whether you voted for him or not.

I suppose if the NDP deal holds until 2025, there is still lots of time for the proverbial walk in the snow and a leadership campaign but, if it doesn’t, I don’t see Frankie leading the party into an election until after the next one. And if you are a conservative, that might be a better result.

      • Martin,

I predicted that HimselfTM would bow to party pressure to put the party first and go and I’ve been dead wrong. So yes, I expect this Prime Minister to lead them into the next election.

As for my vote, it will be CPC for at least the next two elections. As long as the CPC doesn’t become PPC-lite, the party will have my unqualified support going forward.

        • As for Champagne, I have nothing against him personally but I’m CPC. I view Morneau as the next Martin, who was a Bay Street favourite. Liberals tend to fall sooner or later into predictable patterns, so I expect Morneau to have the inside track in a leadership race if he decides to get back into politics.

Ronald-don’t get me wrong. I would never vote for Bubbles. It is just that if he happens to win, I am not going to lose any sleep over it or be dumbfounded at anyone who votes for him. I really don’t see any difference between T and JT supporters and that has been the case for years.

  2. Warren,

I think Pierre can bring this one home, provided he doesn’t make a major mistake in the next campaign. I’m reasonably confident that he won’t, but never say never.

  3. Warren,

If the supposed master felony was the bee’s knees, they would have made it public and as fast as possible. They’ve got next to nothing, felony-wise and it shows.

Pulp is amazing. Common People their best track of many great ones. Our outside multi media guy was looking over my Spotify profile. He says he knows no one else that has a Shatner playlist. His Common Pulp cover with Joe Jackson is a classic:

Cocker loved it and was flattered because he was a Trekkie.

    Brantford is Turmel’s home, fyi.

Happy Easter Warren, to you and yours. Take care.

    Looking forward to Jagmeet Singh opening a chain of grocery stores; NDP Shops. Just think of the advantages;
    1. Investors (union pension funds and millionaire socialists like Justin Trudeau) will get healthy returns.
    2. Farmers will get paid higher prices.
    3. The NDP Shops will be able to pay $170/tonne carbon tax because carbon taxes don’t raise prices.
    4. NDP Shop employees will be better paid than other grocery store employees.
    5. Consumers will get lower grocery prices.

And Jagmeet can even employ Justin as a stock clerk. I mean Justin has lots of experience rolling up his sleeves.

    • Martin Dixon says:

On the raise, there is no question that Weston has the same PR communication firm as the CRA employees who are threatening a strike(no one is rushing the ramparts in support) but it is hilarious to me that inflation is something is caused by all these external outside forces according to Singh and his fellow travellers unless they are talking about grocery store prices. Gross margins have remained constant for years. And to have leftie politicians lecture anyone on how to actually deal with money is also roll on the floor fall down funny. Have any of them actually looked at Canada’s finances?
