  1. Peter Williams says:

Trudeau appointed a woman to be Ethics Commissioner and promptly cut her salary.

  2. Douglas W says:

François-Philippe Champagne on the second ballot.

  3. Martin Dixon says:

Because it’s 2015. Joe should have given him shit instead of the Tories.

  4. Sean says:

I can’t wait until Friday when we all get to hear what Katie has to say about Justin’s shampoo.

  5. Steve T says:

Your points are all good ones, WK, but you are working from the assumption that a new leader would be chosen primarily by merit. In today’s era, sometimes a quota is filled just for the sake of filling a quota. So if voices like Mr. Harewood’s become loud enough, any one of the people you mention could end up as leader. Box checked, and forward we go.

  6. Martin Dixon says:

Just saw Justin say “I have no direct or indirect relationship with the Trudeau Foundation”. I guess he forgot about his brother and half-sister. Why didn’t someone ask that follow up question(unless I missed it)? More reputations turned to shit because they have been in JT’s orbit.

    • Martin Dixon says:

Nice to see that this is getting some well deserved coverage. JT’s also went on to say “It is a shame to see the level of toxicity and political polarization that is going on in our country these days”.

He should know since he is the one who has played and continues to play that game the best. He got elected for one reason and one reason alone. His name. Even his cult followers can’t disagree with that view. So now the reputations of some people that likely don’t deserve it are getting dragged through the mud because of their association with that name(again).
I really can’t see how David Johnston can continue in his role as a special rapporteur.

    • Douglas W says:

      Follow-up question?
Martin, the MSM wouldn’t do that because it would be perceived as an act of aggression.

MSM, with a few exceptions, live in fear of reprisal.
And so they do the bare minimum so it looks like they’re doing their job.

I can’t help but like Finance Minister Freeland. She has
a terrible job and everyone knows it. She’s a good fighter and that’s what I like about her.

If she wants to be PM I’d be a supporter of that. Frankly, she’s a better choice than Mark Carney IMHO.

    P.S. I like the Hoffa analogy. 🙂

    • Steve T says:

My main gripe with Freeland is that she seems to be the most smug, self-righteous, scoldy politician I’ve ever encountered. And that’s saying a lot in the Liberal camp.

      • Martin Dixon says:

I agree but she is smart and self-aware enough to be in on the joke. She does it with a smile on her face. Our PM, not so much. And one of the reasons I don’t mind Bubbles.
