The world is burning because of climate change, and just like with the pandemic there’s a fringe denying climate science the same way they vilified vaccines and public health measures.
Yes. Nebraska was after The River. Which was after Born to Run and Darkness On The Edge of Town. Born to Run was his breakthrough. The “jingoism” album was Born In The USA. In quotes because it wasn’t. People like George Will and Reagan referred to it but they missed the point. One thing it did do was, because of MTV, basically turn him into a cultural phenom. That was when he got huge. Saw him live in Toronto in 1984.
Nebraska, Born To Run, Born in the USA and Darkness all make this list:
Climate change is made possible by people, and it’s up to people to do something about it. The world has changed, like another poster suggested, for the rest of our lives. Hopefully we have the courage and resolve to do something about it so our grandchildren have a better world to live in.
Trump is the ultimate expression of the dumbing-down-in-politics-conquest. No one could have possibly succeeded more spectacularly than this natural-born imbecile. Trump truly makes Trudeau look like Mensa calibre and that’s really saying something.
So happy for those who’ve been spared and so very sad for those who have lost their homes. But even in such horrible circumstances, there is often the silver lining of getting out of there alive and safe.
At least you got that one word right: SEEM. Reality is something else entirely. The vast majority of the membership want nothing to do with conspiracy peddling kooks. Just ask them. Reality over perception. Quite the novelty for some, apparently.
As if these people didn’t have enough problems already…and now hospitals starting to fill up with COVID-19 patients. Surprise, surprise. How many of the unvaccinated will croak in this round?
You seem happy about unvaccinated people dying. Do you create Toronto Star front pages for a living? Maybe I should be equally as happy about all the people with permanently damaged hearts. Yours seems pretty damaged.
According to Danielle Smith, 500 of the last 650 fires in Alberta were caused by human activity. Some people said the smoke in Quebec didn’t just smell like wood burning but like something with synthetic material or accelerants in it. Let me guess. All the fires will be blamed on climate change, and that will be the perfect excuse for raising the carbon tax because our politicians need more money.
I don’t know about you but Danielle Smith has never struck me as being intimately associated with the term credible source. But if she’s right, then so be it but only for this year’s statistics.
In two words: Herman Cain. As I recall, he refused to get vaccinated and then voilà…he had a lot of company and they all made their own beds. Too bad we don’t know if COVID-19 was passed along to someone else before they died. I’m not happy they’re dead. It’s more like well, what the hell did you expect? You know, Einstein’s theory of insanity, etc. And they will do it AGAIN this time. Well, good luck with that.
And for the record, last vaccinated in May and next in November. I eat my own cooking, hoping to minimize my chances of killing someone else by passing it on. I like to be logical and consistent. Others, often not so much.
Justin said a lot of stupid things in his presser the other day during the festivities at the cabinet retreat. Whined about how tough he has it, for starters:
“..this is not an easy time to be a politician…”
Some of the barking seals in the press and all of the barking seals in the cabinet all laughed on cue to a question about Pierre. This was a pretty good response and kind of a “there he goes again” answer.
They should all laugh nervously and then break into tears. It’s already all over for that crowd. Pierre is the next Prime Minister, short of a significant or unexpected mistake, and I don’t see that happening.
Ronald-read a great exchange in the latest Daniel Silva book:
“It’s early Lars.”
“I’ve always believed in the power of positive thinking.”
“That’s because you are Danish,” said Gabriel. “I find it comforting to prepare myself for a calamity and to be pleasantly surprised if it turns out to be a garden-variety disaster instead.”
My modus operandi.
I actually underlined it like my dad used to do with his old English books.
Personally, I would rather Justin resign and the Liberals get back in the mix again than risk Justin winning again. I am sure people like Sean would agree!
I am a worrier.
Side note-the whole Daniel Silva, Gabriel Allon series is great stuff.
Just watching with amusement much of the MSM pushing out Katie’s morning memo about the fact that the average age for a first time home buyer in 1977 was 32.7. In response to PP’s ad. Some silly person is challenging Scheer on P and P. I have an honours math degree so I will try and help these math challenged people. That is an AVERAGE age. The bottom line is if you WANTED to buy house then if you were in your twenties, you could. Many CHOSE not to. I was 23. 51k. 1k down, 18% mortgage. I have a mason one year younger than me working on my cottage. Smart guy but circumstances did not allow him to go to University. He was 24 when he bought his first house. Everyone I knew then that WANTED to buy a house could in their 20s if they had any ambition or interest at all.The silly host on P and P even made Scheer’s point. The average age is now 4 years higher. She said that. Somehow she was trying to make Katie’s case but I was having hard time following her logic.
You would think by NOW that the majority of them over at The MotherCorp would have enough brains not to go out of their way to cut their own throats. But no, I guess that suicidal impulse is simply too strong for them…they are rapidly pushing me into the defunding camp where so many of them will lose their fucking jobs! What a bunch of raving lunatics. Seemingly, there is absolutely no hope for them.
Ronald-Scheer didn’t deal with it very well, unfortunately. That was how he should have dealt with it. Two of my best friends are in their mid-fifties. One got his girlfriend pregnant in highschool-they were 17 and 16. To their great credit, they stuck it out, just celebrated their 35th anniversary at their second home in Muskoka, have 4 beautiful granddaughters and now he pretty well runs my firm. He bought his first house when he was 21. Other one started University but his 43 year old dad died suddenly of a heart attack. He dropped out of school because he was in such a funk and got married when he was 20 and his wife was 19 and had four beautiful daughters and now the grandchildren are coming. He bought his first house when he was 21 too and he has a nice place on Lake Erie. I really don’t see how two people like that have a path now no matter how ambitious. But I suppose they would have taken solace with the 10.00 a day child care and the increased CCB while they were paying rent and ever increasing grocery costs but I digress.
WTAF! Wasn’t the Kelowna MP getting slammed on Twitter for her tone deaf comments while fires were raging? That was fair.
Perhaps some of Liberal government contract beneficiaries who can afford the 1700.00 that will attend this should consider donating some or all of it to the victims of the fires out there. Just a thought.
No matter what you think of the Jordan Peterson decision(given some of my online views I am obviously not a fan since I am a member of a professional association), this is hilarious:
I hope accurate and if it is, personally, I would rather see Justin take a walk and see us lose to his replacement(there are some that would not bother me-Frankie for one) than risking us snatch defeat from victory and let this dumbass in again. Any patriotic Canadian should feel the same way,
I don’t believe those numbers. A thirteen percent lead doesn’t make sense. We haven’t yet sufficiently produced policy to sustain that type of a trend. So, almost inevitably, the only way forward is down. I think we’re really in the 34-36% range but 41% has got to be an outlier.
Ronald, they are doing better with younger people and I made that prediction mostly to guffaws. People weren’t paying attention to his rallies. PP’s weakest support is baby boomers like you and me. Which makes perfect sense. This is really a generational battle. We have had it too good for too long with borrowed money. Party is over.
With respect, got to disagree. My view, which could be very wrong, is that we’re in a John Turner cycle: Pierre will get at least four years in power and if we avoid going down the gonzo trail as Harper did in 2015, it likely will be a two mandate run for the CPC.
I’m sick as shit of these incompetent phoneys and I hope that a plurality of Canadians feel the same. I don’t want to have to stand them for one more moment than I electorally have to.
The world is burning because of climate change, and just like with the pandemic there’s a fringe denying climate science the same way they vilified vaccines and public health measures.
If climate change was really due to CO2, wouldn’t Trudeau and his Cabinet stop flying?

Yes. I am a Springsteen fan.
Conservatives seem like they’re in the grips of Conspiracy theory regarding the below topics:
1) The WEF Globalist conspiracy
2) Climate change conspiracy theory
3) Pandemic conspiracy theory
Like happened win Alberta, a fringe right-wing conspiracy theorist is just a step away from power.
You need to stop looking in the mirror dude, seriously.

Curious V,
Because I like you, I’ll give you the China and India file. Best of luck. Last time I checked, Pierre wasn’t the leader in those
two countries.
“Climate change is made possible by people.”
Like Chrystia Freeland who was caught speeding, which means she was really spewing out extra CO2 (i.e. polluting).
And in today’s National Post we see that GG Simon racked up $3 million in carbon spewing travel costs during 2022.
This includes over $71,000 in limousine costs during a 4 day trip to Iceland.
Note the average yearly income in Canada for an individual is approximately $54,000.
Woody Allen:
“80 percent of SUCCESS is showing up.”
[Took a while to get the quote exactly right.]

The last song on this Kinsellacast episode was also used for the credit roll in a Sopranos episode. I feel like it’s S 1 E 3 but not sure….

Although the hero of the series was one of the Israelis that participated in:

The only poll that matters is the vote tally on election day.
Are polls really a random and unbiased sample? How many people who are polled hang up when the pollsters identify themselves?
