—Suck on it, Covidiots
Just got my seventh Covid shot. Never had it.
(Have had 23 flu shots over 23 years. Never got that, either.)
Oh, and here are my Dr. Fauci pins that I got in Boston. I hope they make various troglodyte heads explode.
Warren,
Some people go out of their way to reinforce their preconceived ideas, which are either incorrect or at best, incomplete. Not me.
My next COVID-19 shot will be next month. Ditto for the flu shot. I like to do as much as I can to keep strangers alive. That’s just me.
Professor Marc Lipsitch of Harvard wrote to all members of the 2014 Cambridge Working Group Call-to-Action on Gain-of-Function deadly Pandemic
Pathogens last month at the request of the White House Biden admin who wanted all in the group to file an RFI for the White House Office of Science on their newly proposed framework for manufacture of GOF Pandemic Pathogens. I didn’t respond to their request
because they are intent on deregulating current regulatory frameworks.

I’ll send you the request via email.
I’m not an ‘idiot’, but judging by the White House request directly to my inbox via Harvard I’m assuming
the White House thinks I am.
This post literally reminded me that it is time for me to book my shots.
I must be an idiot because I have never gotten the flu shot or the Covid shot. When there are accidents or deaths, vaccine fanatics love to say that correlation does not equal causation. It also applies to those who get shots and don’t get sick.
Gilbert,
Not getting the shot is certainly not Russian roulette but it sure is like betting on red and needing for it to come up every single winter. Sooner or later, a person’s luck likely runs out, especially after age fifty.
I was vaccinated and still got Covid. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get vaccinated (although I believe it should be your choice). I wan’t that sick, and I intend on getting the new Covid vaccine and my flu shot. To me, it is just common sense.
EHWAL,
Yup, the scientific religion seems to indicate in at least a plurality of studies that vaccination by and large prevents serious to fatal COVID-19 symptoms and that’s good enough for me.
Scientific religion is dogma. Science is not dogma.
It’s actually hypothesis testing whereby one tests
the Ho: Null Hypothesis or the Ha: Alternative Hypothesis to determine whether either is applicable.
Science is a school of thought that does not engage in dogmatic assumption unlike religion that assumes
dogmatism is reality when in fact it isn’t. Empiricism
proper engages hypothesis testing and religion doesn’t.
Informed Consent legislation should be utilized by all before considering medical intervention that’s based upon dogma rather than science proper.
Same. My COVID adventure lasted about a week and a half. Really about 3 days of actually feeling really sick. That was after two shots.
Why do I still get the boosters? I prefer showing up to work every day. Regular visits to the gym are a major component of my mental health picture, especially during the winter months. As Warren points out, the public health system is overburdened. Lastly, I have vulnerable family members / social acquaintances.
In short, I don’t want to get it again. So I will thankfully line up for every version of this miracle vaccine that is available.
The covid shot and flu shot will either prevent infection, or if you still get infected they reduce severity. Either way you’re in better shape if you get the vaccine.
I’ve had six shots, and I’m looking forward to my seventh. Viruses mutate, so we’ll likely have to get covid vaccines for the foreseeable future.
