I doubt it will be Carney. Far too much of an elitist. They need a future leader who is more on the Poilièvre wavelength, one who can credibly appeal to the average Joe and Jane.
People keep talking about the traps the Liberals are setting for Pierre. Things like the Ukraine deal and bathrooms. I have been less than impressed with these traps but I digress. Many Liberals now find themselves in the uncomfortable position of defending the rights of Luka Magnotta and Paul Bernardo. I can provide some helpful links from the interwebs if any of them have forgotten who they are. NSFW though. I have a free tip for the Laurentian elite types bleating about rehabilitation, the constitution and whatever other nonsensical ramblings they have been engaged in, the flyover types outside the borders of downtown Toronto and Ottawa don’t agree with you. With extreme prejudice, actually. You’re welcome. And perhaps, when they get released into halfway houses, they can be placed into one of your neighbourhoods? How would you like them apples? Please continue to bleat.
I watch P and P and 30 minutes of it first thing in the morning. I think it is important to understand the Liberal talking points. Maddening and frustrating though.
“Germany plans to reinstate compulsory military conscription
In Germany, mandatory military conscription is proposed to be reinstated. Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has instructed to develop a model of military service by April 1, aimed at enhancing the country’s resilience, reports Der Spiegel.
According to the material, the minister plans to reintroduce military service by autumn 2025, coinciding with the federal elections. The initiative aims to make a substantial, threat-adapted contribution to national resilience.”
“UN report finds ‘convincing’ information that hostages in Gaza were raped
A United Nations team has found “clear and convincing” information that hostages in Gaza were sexually abused, Pramila Patten, the UN special envoy on sexual violence in conflict told reporters on Monday. There are “reasonable grounds” to believe the sexual violence is ongoing, she added.
According to Patten, the team also found “reasonable grounds to believe that conflict related sexual violence, including rape and gang rape occurred” during Hamas’ October 7 terror attack in Israel, in what is the most definitive finding by the global organization on sexual assault allegations in the aftermath of the attack.”
Pharmacare

A plan to come up with a plan, to possibly provide money to provinces, so provinces can do what they already do.
One thing it definitely will do? It will increase the number of federal civil servants pushing paper in Ottawa.
Rather than Pharmacare, we should focus on seeing that everyone in Canada has a family physician.
6.5 million in Canada don’t have a family physician.
It’s called magic. We have an ad hoc deal to make people believe there is a deal.
Demics track a banger. Oh…and I think Pierre would crush Carney in a debate, no matter the topic.
Martin,
I doubt it will be Carney. Far too much of an elitist. They need a future leader who is more on the Poilièvre wavelength, one who can credibly appeal to the average Joe and Jane.
François-Philippe Champagne, on the second ballot.
Anita Anand will get decent support, but it won’t be enough to stop F-P.
Douglas,
Champagne has been somewhat mediocre on most of his files. The food pricing thing is but the latest example.
For Liberals, mediocrity is pretty good.
Yes-a huge step up.
Warren,
A movement…for most Canadians, this party is viewed more like a bowel movement.
That flushing sound on election night …

Laurentian elites lost their grip about five years ago.
And, yet, the CBC keeps giving them a voice.
Stopped watching the Liberal propaganda machine, years ago.
Douglas,
Still watch it. (I like to suffer.)

Jagmeet Singh’s NDP sides with the Trudeau coverup on the Winnipeg lab, shutting down a Parliamentary committee.
Peter,
Shocked, I am.
Captain Rénaud.
Of course they did.
Kinsellacast is one of my top five Italian cooking / punk rock / politics podcasts of 2024.

I loathe Netanyahu, but unlike Biden, you won’t see me calling for a protracted ceasefire, not under these circumstances.
The Americans need to drop more aid à la Berlin airlift, but that’s it.
Warren,
From The National Post:
“Terence Corcoran: Pierre Poilievre’s policy option — ‘neo-Mulroney’ or ‘post-Harper’?”
I think Pierre is a hybrid.
