This shouldn’t be all that surprising. Housefather is a lifelong Liberal in Canada. Feelings about Israel generate a lot of passion amongst portions of the electorate, but at the end of the day, they have close to zero bearing on the reasons he got into politics, nor will those feelings do much to help anyone in his riding.
He has been a Liberal since he was a kid. That is one of the excuses his supporters are using. I was a PET fan at age 10 in 1968. I grew up.
He can continue with his performative stance against anti-Semitism as much as he wants. He is a kapo and I hope he loses his seat and his shunned by Montreal’s Jewish community.
