They know what they’re wearing. They know.

Haven’t written about the keffiyeh because it’s not as important as Jews being terrorized and attacked for being Jews.

But I run campaigns, and I know when something has been turned into a symbol that expresses indifference to Jews being terrorized and attacked for being Jews.

Well it is as you said on your last “Kinsella Cast”, politicians are pandering for votes. Let’s not forget this the next time there is a controversy over somebody wearing a poppy for Remembrance Day.

    Symbols:

Kippah: a symbol of awareness of, and submission to, a “higher” entity – Yahweh.

There’s no anger or hate or divisiveness associated with the kippah. Only a calm reverence.

    As for the keffiyeh ….

While the keffiyeh was worn by Bedouin tribesmen for centuries, it was Yasser Arafat who politicized it and turned it into a political symbol. Pretending it is only a “cultural” item of clothing is disingenuous at best. And I’m willing to bet that if you asked the protesters about Yasser Arafat, 95% of them would ask “who is that?”.
