    Random thoughts:
    1. Yes, Poilièvre, more measured. He’s starting to learn. He should have figured this out, a lot sooner. I suspect he wouldn’t listen.
    2. Libs aren’t as proficient as people think. They had MSM in their corner. The pollsters were gushing over them. The White House clearly wanted them to win. And what happened? They could not get to 171 seats on election night. I find that amazing.
    3. The economy continues to do a slow slide. Harder days ahead for Carney. Less smiling, come the fall

  2. Warren,

Big, big change can either help you or run your government into the ground. Guess which is more likely under Carney?

  3. Warren,

Carney deep-sixes seven of his own ministers, and the new bunch don’t seem to be up to the standards of those that the PM just nixed. At least Pierre is smiling!

  4. Warren,

Pedant had an interesting strategic comment here when he suggested that possibly Gould was going to be kept in reserve in case Carney royally blows it. Nice one. I did not see that possibility coming.

      Ronald,
This government does not have the chops to navigate through economic hardship.
They’ll be propped up by the NDP but … their fate will be death by a thousand paper cuts.

  5. Karl,

Sounds more like an excuse, or a pretext, to dump the party and join the Carney Liberals.

  6. Warren,

Hope Mraz will be OK. Inevitably, better times are always ahead.

Where’s Curious to tell us how great the Liberals are doing?

Actually laughed! None of my musical commentary is a criticism!

On REM-pretty hard to maintain what they started with Radio Free Europe-still one of my favourite tracks-period. Thank-you CFNY.

Illuminati Hotties have been played before but not that one-it was great. The show got cut off before we got to Mraz and Wednesday but I am pretty sure you have not played that track before.

On the blackflies. Reason number one million why Muskoka is as overrated as Toronto. We don’t get them over here in flyover country on the Bruce.

There is no sane world where Finance and Revenue should be two separate cabinet posts. It is idiotic. Hadn’t noticed until yesterday that one former spectacularly unqualified person who had the job for almost 8 years, Diane Lebouthillier, was defeated in the recent election. Nice! It would be as idiotic as naming someone as the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada that only has experience notarizing documents for a couple of years as an associate. Oh wait….

Couple of things Tasha said. On Stornoway, if anyone really thinks the rules are being bent for Pierre, go ahead and kick him out but to do that brings to mind the old line:

“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines.”

It would be expensive and idiotic. And speaking of the above, Carney actually used the excuse “according to the rules of the house, we are supposed to rise on June 20th” not to sit for a few minutes past June 20th to deal with the “existential threat of a lifetime” when he said this:

“”There is not much value in trying to rush through a budget in a very narrow window – three weeks – with a new cabinet,” Carney said at a press conference in Rome.” Pierre, who has much more experience in these matters(said experience constantly dismissed but I digress) could easily explain to him how the House could sit past the vacay starting date of June 20th. Carney shuld give him a call.

I see Carney is now breaking him arm patting himself on the back because they say they will release a budget in the fall(contradicting his own minister-don’t they speak) but that still gives us no indication where we are at now and there are ways he could find out that information. Again Pierre could let him know. A public corporation this fiscally irresponsible weld be delisted.

Also, no misery from this conservative, at least. I mostly see anger on the left on social media. It is actually quite funny to watch. I am going to console myself with the continuing wealth transfer that has happened for the last 10 years and will now continue. Elbows up!

    • Martin,

Carney doesn’t do humble. He definitely won’t be letting his fingers do the walking.

Apparently, they’re going to release an Economic Statement shortly. Ah, huh.
