I’m with my buddies watching the Dallas at Edmonton game. The quick pause for The National just came on for a sec. Carney is doing too many interviews. WK you said that Jean Chretien himself said “I don’t need to be in the paper every day, the people get annoyed.”
This has been a lot of pomp and circumstance, but is he thinking being always available to the media is better? Disagree.
I literally used the pomp and circumstance line to point out that they are only sitting for 20 days and so far, after two days, that is all we have. He would be better off spending his time reporting to “the owners of the country” what our financial situation looks like. That is what the owners of a public company in the real world would expect. I am surprised he is not aware of that.
I came here yesterday to post this but got distracted by the playlist. I watched Carney say on P and P that he will cut development charges in half. I am actually starting to think that he is a naive mathematically challenged dumbass. Vaughan has Liberal MP(Sorbara) and a Liberal mayor(Del Duca). The development charges have been reduced but they are still 148,205. That is typical throughout the GTA. Cutting those in half will blast a hole in the Vaughan budget. Who do they see about the shortfall?
I hope you will consider adding to your next mix Pierre’s present and future campaign song if he ever runs in an Ontario riding again: Barber’s Adagio for Strings. Now you know the real reason why the byelection is en Alberta. He can’t and won’t ever win again in Ontario. Some much for PM Poilièvre…
And the other fun thing is…run Pierre in any of the new Ontario ridings that we just won and thanks to his candidacy, HE would lose in any one of them. He’s probably as popular in Ontario as Trump is. Lucky him.
In other news, Carney is likely now learning what every newly elected mayor in Smalltown(pop 2000), Canada learns within a few weeks of taking office. Your ability to actually make meaningful change as a PM is way more difficult than what you thought despite that ivory tower education-actually check that, because of it. Photo ops of signing meaningless pieces of paper a la orange man will not do the trick. Elbows up!
“The Main Estimates suggest that message of restraint fell on deaf ears in Ottawa: total budgeted spending is scheduled to rise 7.75 per cent to $486.9 billion this fiscal year across 130 federal organizations (compared to last year’s Main Estimates). The government will ask Parliament to vote on $222.9 billion of spending measures, a 14 per cent increase on last year’s estimates.”
For anyone on The Spotify:

Favourites for me would be the Horsegirl and Dead Bars tracks. And the Guns and Roses(!!) cover is beautiful.
If I ever did something like this, I would have to do it every couple of weeks. Too much music, too little time. These two would be on this week’s:

Sorbara lost the election
Ha. Thanks. Did he ever! I even kind of checked that but did not read the link carefully enough:

Man, am I ever happy to be wrong about that. He won’t be missed(by me anyway).
