Happy day, Mom
Today is her birthday. She led a long and good life, yes, and I believe – per my faith – she is with my Dad now, the love of her life. Yes.
But I still so miss her, miss them, every single day. People will tell you it gets easier, with the passage of time. But they’re not telling you the truth. It mostly doesn’t.
She was an artist and a creator and the best mother you could possibly imagine. As Moms go, she was without equal. Her absence leaves a hole in the sky and in every moment of every day.
Happy birthday, Lorna Emma Bridget Cleary Kinsella. You are so incredibly missed.

At Mass today, I thanked the Big Guy for allowing my mom to be around for another Mother’s Day.
I have tears in my eyes thinking how I would be devastated on a Mother’s Day without her.
She is irreplaceable.
I am fortunate in realizing this before it is too late.
Mothers are special. I lost mine several years ago and my dad prior to that. But the years we had together were special years, more special then I ever thought possible.
Mom wasn’t a special status mom, just a stay at home mom who greeted me every day after school and asked me how my day went. She never had any letters behind her name, but in my mind there are no letters which could define how much she meant to me. Mom was fantastic, and I know exactly where she is. Happy mothers day mom !!!
The eyes. Windows to a talented soul.
Here is mine. From 49 years ago. My brother Sean thinks she is luminescent in that pic but she lost her third eldest child the year before that was taken. 50 years ago tomorrow. No parent should have to bury their child and to me she looks like she was still grieving and hanging on tight to her kids. Gone 32 plus years now and she spent her whole short adult life raising those kids. Still miss her.
