I had forgotten how close that 1997 election was. Didn’t live and breathe politics then. Perhaps because adults were in charge. Plus it was basically impossible to elect a conservative at any level of government in Brantford back then.
Once Carney starts to cut the bureaucracy, NDP types will go back home. Sean mentioned on another thread about how crazy the NDP support was in some ridings and how it won’t be duplicated. I saw some one hit wonder named Corey Hogan flossing about the fact that an office got opened on the CBC the other day. Does anyone really think he is going to be able to duplicate this result? I don’t:
Liberal Corey Hogan 33,077 48.09 +20.20
Conservative Jeremy Nixon 31,829 46.27 +0.58
New Democratic Keira Gunn 2,837 4.12 –13.60
I’ve spent the better part of almost two years thinking about October 7, 2023, and the more I work through it, the more I distance myself from the theory of a catastrophic cascading massive intelligence failure. I can’t buy that. In my book, there remains another shoe to drop, and that shoe has Netanyahu written all over it. We need to find out much more about this tragedy and how it really happened.
When moron Trump cancelled Abbas’ visa, he almost guaranteed that the General Assembly will adopt a resolution on Palestinian statehood, which Trump will veto. Then the UK, France and Canada will go ahead with it anyway.
Did they bring out the torches and pitchforks when Chrétien cut the public service? Nope. Martin? Only eventually. Carney? When they look at the alternative, they’ll likely give Carney a pass in the next election.
Of course, those who happen to be hypocrites in the West and elsewhere never have a word to say about our asshole telling CPC MPs not to work for Ford and the Progressive Conservatives in their election. In short, Skippy started it. No surprise there.
When Ford goes to sleep at night, he puts his head on a pillow and probably can hear Canada calling for far better government than we have now. There’s the rationale right there. Hopefully, Kory is telling him the same thing.
Music first. Azro Cady track a banger. Social Distortion/Mike Ness vibe. Or Weakerthans:

Ditto To Be Astronauts.
Black Sabbath could have written that.

Warren,
Yeah, Revenue Canada, where the phone wait has always been between one and two hours. That should work out great after the cuts…
Warren,
Home invasion: the devil is always in the details.
