Yanks

Someone observed that I wrote more about Trump 1 than Trump 2.

Me: “The first time I thought it was the exception, not the rule. I thought they’d reclaim sanity.

I can’t read or listen to them anymore. They demanded crucifixion and now they complain about the view.”

  1. Warren,

When he was inaugurated in January, I felt exactly the way you do. I refused to watch any of the American news channels because I couldn’t bear the sight of that shitface. But then I came around and decided it was far more important to take the battle to that dipshit and his sycophant morons. And so I have with relish. To each his own.

It is indeed a conundrum on how much effort to spend on resisting the second term of the Mango Mussolini.
On the one hand, it is stressful and (for me) alienates some of my American friends who went over to MAGA and now won’t admit they got duped. How much of this do I tolerate, when it’s not even my home country?
On the other hand, I truly believe this is America teetering on the brink, and that has long-term global implications. Even if the U.S. (and the world) survive the next 3-ish years, the hole being dug will take decades to repair – if it can be fully repaired. So on that front, I feel the need to continue fighting – to whatever degree I can, from this side of the border.
Some things are for sure – no travel to the U.S. during Trump’s term; no U.S. wine or beer or liquor; and avoiding U.S. products in the grocery store whenever possible.
And the occasional snarky post on social media… 🙂
