F**ked Up’s Damian Abraham becomes even more godlike

As regulars know, I am a huge fan of Canada’s own Fucked Up.  I think they are actual geniuses.

Anyway, couldn’t sleep last night, was Net-noodling, and found this online: Abraham is a Hot Nasties fan!  (Or he knows of us, anyway.) To wit:

Q: What song would you like to have played at your funeral?
A: “The Secret Of Immortality” by the Hot Nasties.

OMG, the Nasties have been given coolness steroids.  This is awesome.

Anyhow, to commemorate this auspicious event, here’s FU from the epic new album, David Comes to Life, with ‘Queen of Hearts’:

Benedict Baldy Update

He’s in today’s Star, attempting to sound unconcerned.  Here are three simple realities with which he should be concerned:

1.  Every Liberal alive intensely hates his guts.

2.  He’s twenty points back of Mike Colle.

3.  Every Liberal alive intensely hates his guts.

Enjoy your week in the sun, BB.  By mid-October, you’ll be lining up for pogey.

Benedict Baldy, not exactly as pictured, but close.

The Spectator: Tim Hudak has “questionable judgment”

Because it’s not so much about Hudak’s personal beliefs as it is about his slippery response when confronted with evidence of his views. It turns out that Hudak told anti-abortion advocates in 1995 that he is “solidly” opposed to abortion. In 2009, his representatives told another Conservative advocacy group, the Association for Reformed Political action, that he is “pro-life” and actually signed a petition calling for the defunding of abortions. Rather than simply acknowledging his position, Hudak at first said he couldn’t remember signing the petition, later admitting he “may have” done so, but doesn’t favour revisiting the issue.

Michael Samson

Someone using that name just passed along some nastiness.  Don’t know if it is a real name, but associated email is michaelsamson@yahoo.com, I.P. 64.183.13.74.  Is he for real?  Any tips would be appreciated.

What the media say about Hudak and his dishonesty on choice

“Hudak, as a politician looking to run Ontario’s medical system, should state his position. In delaying doing that, he looks weak, inexperienced and uncomfortable with the issue.” (Ottawa Citizen, July 27, 2011)

“Hudak can’t run away from this issue and he shouldn’t try. He has to be honest and have the courage to say what he believes.” (Toronto Star, August 1 2011)

“When pressed by reporters Monday, Mr.Hudak refused to answer whether he still considers himself “pro-life.” (National Post, July 19, 2011)

“[Hudak] believed things about abortion in the past, and there’s no reason to believe he doesn’t believe them now. So the idea that he “may have” signed a pro-life coalition is just staggeringly weak.” (National Post, July 20, 2011)

Benedict Baldy’s “momentum” continues to “build”

Ontario P.C. press release, February 1, 2011: “The addition of Rocco Rossi to the Tim Hudak team demonstrates that the Ontario PC message is resonating and that momentum is building across this province including Toronto.”

Toronto Star news story, August 7, 2011: “Liberal MPP Mike Colle is romping to victory over Progressive Conservative challenger Rocco Rossi in the high-profile battle for Eglinton-Lawrence, a new poll suggests.  According to internal Liberal polling obtained Sunday by the Star, Colle leads with 48 per cent of the decided vote, compared with 30 per cent for Rossi.”
