The internet can be a vile place sometimes, but this week has made me fall in love with the Twitterverse and its reactive inhabitants.

It took down Pepsi and Kendall Jenner for being stupid, arrogant and out of touch; it torched United Airlines for being an airline operated by assholes; and now it is going to tear Sean Spicer and new asshole for being so unbelievably incompetent at his job [Leading me to wonder what stupid fuck thought that Sean Spicer possessed a scintilla of capability to be anyone’s press guy. He has neither the temperament nor the communication skills for a television spokesperson].

All in all, this week has been a lesson to anyone in the PR/Comms field. We live in a completely different world where tolerance for miscalculation is non-existent. Apologies aren’t enough to prevent the public from exacting some degree of punishment on your brand’s reputation through social media.

      Charlie,

I’ll give you one guess what the initials R. P. stand for. They worked together over at the RNC, the Republican Mecca.

Maybe United should dig out those old Westjet Christmas ads for some ideas. $800 million drop in stock value will surely get the pr department’s attention.

  3. Patrick says:

Lol. That option should be at the top of the list.

  4. Derek Pearce says:

I can’t believe how bad Spicer is at his job. I can’t believe he got this job to begin with! He can’t even get a coherent sentence out of his mouth let alone his continual blatant BS, misdirection, and “forgetful” habits in this case.

  5. Ray says:

I’ll go with United – already have a new ad slogan:

‘Book early and beat the crowd’
