Dear Chief Blair

Dear Chief Blair:

Other folks want to canonize you as a saint. I’ve never felt that way, for various reasons.

Another reason: your guys had the goods on Rob Ford six ways to Sunday. Schedule One narcotic use and possession (as he’s admitted); extortion (threatening the power of his office to get back the cell phone with drug connections on it); participation in a criminal organization (the new offence created, ironically enough, by his pal Stephen Harper).

As others have said, correctly, if a poor non-white kid had been implicated in just one of the above-noted crimes, they’d still be in jail.

But Rob Ford? Again: you had him, and you let him go.  Why is that?

When Toronto gets a new mayor – and if you’re still around, which I increasingly tend to doubt – get ready for some tough questions, Chief.  There’ll be plenty of them.

Sincerely,

Warren Kinsella, LL.B

P.S. The questions will be directed at the Crown Attorney’s Office, too.  They’ve been as negligent as you, perhaps more so.  Kathleen Wynne’s maladroit Attorney-General will need to answer for that, I think.

    Why hasn’t Ford been charged?

Because Bill Blair is, and has always participated in extortion of his own. I’ve mentioned it before but I have several family and many friends who are with Toronto Police.

Blair is the TPS version of J.Edgar Hoover. He has files on everyone on council and will use them to get what he wants.

If you remember when Ford first took over, he was demanding a 10% cut from all departments including TPS. Blair refused. The Police Services Board was set to bite the bullet and buy out Bill Blair’s contract to get rid of him. Councillor Michael Thompson even stated so publicly. ALLEGEDLY, Blair made a couple calls to some of the PSB members AND the mayor. Suddenly, they no longer had the votes to oust Blair, and there never was the 10% cut in the TPS budget.

Contrast this with former Raptor Keon Clark.

Warning. Possible Princess Bride reference ahead.

I don’t agree re Ford. Not anymore. We’re so far down the rabbit hole we might as well wait for the idiot to define a new bottom. By now he’s doing us a favour. The longer he’s there the more lessons to be learned about allowing thugs to operate levers of power. He’s only good for ten second soundbites and as the butt of jokes. Even if re-elected (not likely) he’d be stripped of power so why not let him sit forever with arms folded in his fetid foaming festering forever florid putrescence (warned ya) until he gains another 70 pounds and bloviates himself to death.

Do you have any concept of criminal rules of evidence?

Remember Jaffer, the double sided halls of Justice go all the way to the top. Same as it everwas, same as it everwas…

You may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
You may find yourself in another part of the world
You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
You may find yourself in a beautiful house with a beautiful wife
You may ask yourself, well, how did I get here?
Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again after the money’s gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
You may ask yourself, how do I work this?
You may ask yourself, where is that large automobile?
You may tell yourself, this is not my beautiful house
You may tell yourself, this is not my beautiful wife

There is water at the bottom of the ocean
Remove the water, carry the water
Remove the water from the bottom of the ocean

Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, after the money’s gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, into silent water
Under the rocks and stones, there is water underground
Letting the days go by, into silent water
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
You may ask yourself, what is that beautiful house?
You may ask yourself, where does that highway lead to?
You may ask yourself, am I right, am I wrong?
You may say to yourself, my god, what have I done?
