Sounded familiar. A few monhs ago or more, CBC ran a TV piece on a tunnel in WW1 in which I believe the Canadians had built a tunnel to allow Canadianand British troops to congregate for battle against Germans, Unooticed.,sort of an underground surprise attack. Peter Mansbridge was there, the tunnel was narrow and had writings of soldiers here and there on the earthen and rock sides. An eerie similarity to the toronto situation, especially then you consider the finding of a poppy and prayer beads in the toronto site. Could this have been a way to bring heavily-armed people into a group during the Games unnoticed until the very moment of attack?

It might be important to know the orientation direction along which the long axis of the tunnel points…eg:- N 10 degrees W . Then take that and a scale map and draw on it the orientation line of the tunnel and see what that line crosses.

The tunnel was the work of jihadis who intended to attack the Rexall Centre during the Canadian Open Tennis tournament. After the attack they would reenter the tunnel and emerge on the other side for their escape plan. The tunnel would have been extended but it was discovered and abandoned. The poppy and prayer beads were just props to deceive in case the tunnel was discovered. So obvious.
