Dear Department of National Defence

You seem to have a problem.

Below I wrote about the attack on an Ottawa synagogue.  It almost immediately drew a response from someone who seemed to dismiss/defend the attack:

There was no problem when “Pussy riot” went into Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior and desecrate a very prestigious place of worship now was there?. In fact they were treated like heroes back here and had an audience with some very prominent individuals Hillary being one of them.

That comment came from “Shawn,” at Sh9368@telus.net. I checked his IP, 131.137.245.206, as I sometimes do with offensive types.

It led me to this:

Care to comment, anyone at DND?

My experience tells me that Federal Government Departments blocked all personal e-mail and blog activity…. This is distinctly odd.

It’s hard to believe, and I’ll tell you why: I’ve done 2 contracts with DND in Ottawa, and even the least tech-savvy employee would’ve known 15 years ago that everything is tracked on the internet. Surfing a political website on DND connection and time is cause for employee discipline. Taking the extra step and making what appear to be hateful comments about religion could be cause for termination, loss of rank, etc.

So whoever allegedly wrote this comment risked tens of thousands of dollars, their career, and maybe more, to comment on your blog. You should be flattered!

The person could’ve waited a few hours to comment from home, or commented via a mobile connection on their phone, which everybody has now. Yet they chose to endanger their career instead and use DND internet. Which is odd. I mean, a person that dumb could not find their way to the office every day, let alone keep their job at a no BS high professionalism workplace like DND.

There is a social justice activist who works for DND whose name escapes me, he was formerly with the Human Rights Commission and involved in several high profile hate cases. Perhaps he can help you find who really did this. Because I cannot for the life of me believe that anyone would be stupid enough to post hate messages on DND’s internet while at work. It’s not plausible, there has to be another explanation.

Are you going to speak out on anti-Semitism from wealthy progressives in Outremont? Who are attempting to deny them places to pray and worship?
