That’s not quite good enough for me. The tweet – which I understand Faith Goldy responded to by saying “Proud to stand up for all Canadians alongside ya, Doug!” – does not make it clear that Ford believes that Faith Goldy has made such statements.

All it suggests is that if she were to make such statements, he would condemn them. This is dodging the real issue, and I don’t think people should accept this as a sufficient denunciation.

It took 3 days and still he will not directly renounce the things that specifically she said. Footsies with the Nazis.

  3. Robert White says:

Premier Ford would be well advised to dissociate with the entirety of the Libertarian Movement & White Nationalist Movement formally in writing to any major marquee newspaper that distributes nationally & internationally so that the message that emanates from the premier’s office is one of zero tolerance for any associations with hate promulgating groups such as the White Nationalist et al. who are actually breaking Canadian laws by their actions & behaviours.

Fomenting hate of any sort is a present danger to the public safety of any & all of our populations. Dissemination of hate has no place in contemporary society due to numerous factors of which historical Fascism is very much a part.

Contagion spreads with Proto-Fascism & Fascism and the process of deindividuation leads to in-group hate being foisted upon any out-group ethnicity that stands in the way of their group contagion of irrationality. Crowd contagion is extremely dangerous stuff for First Responders and it is wholly unpredictable as evidenced during the Watts Riots in the 60s.

Best to eliminate any sort of racism before the effects of contagion take hold on crowds. In this respect, racism & hatred are national security threats to be taken seriously risk wise.

Hmmm, feels like a shit filled twinky response to me, but its an improvement.

  5. Warren,

It’s beyond critical that Ford rapidly discover past tense verbs.

I would have thought that would be to wishy washy for you, it is for me.

  7. Peter says:

I have to wonder whether any of the commentors here who are saying this isn’t enough could ever imagine themselves voting for him, even to save their mothers.

    • Campbell says:

To save my mother? Sure. But that doesn’t mean I have to accept that this non-repudiation of Goldy is anything but that.

      • Peter says:

No, it doesn’t. But if that means you suspect Ford somehow shares her views or that anyone who is satisfied by his response does, you would justifiably be accused of virtue-signalling without evidence.

Are you aware Rob Ford won the ethnic/non-white vote?
