#LavScam shocker: Five former Attorneys-General call the cops

Here’s something you don’t see every day. I think it’s safe to say that these former federal and provincial Attorneys-General agree with the view of some of us – namely, that there has been an obstruction of justice. Here.

  1. Sunny Waze says:

We’ve been standing up for jobs so long our feet hurt. Daddy said he could do what he wanted and nobody batted an eyelash, why is everyone picking on me…

  2. Ronald O'Dowd says:

You won’t see any ex or present Liberal AGs doing the same. Depends on your perspective whether that’s good or bad.

Meanwhile, the Quebec press is starting to turn and change its tune. It’s not just Chantal.

    • Matt says:

Former Ontario AG Michael Bryant has been very critical of Trudeau, the PMO and PCO in this scandal. From yesterday after JWR testified:

β€œHer testimony disclosed a constitutional crisis far worse than what I envisioned,” said Michael Bryant, a former attorney-general of Ontario and the executive director of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. β€œShe says it was a bald attempt by the Prime Minister to exercise his cabinet-making power over her quasi-judicial authority. I am personally very familiar with the tactic, but have never seen evidence of it used on an attorney-general in this brazen, reckless fashion.”

  3. Ronald O'Dowd says:

Just so you all know, the jokes are already started about Justin making it to the moon.

  4. Mark D says:

Warren and/or Lisa, any thoughts on #Lavscam happening the same week as Michael Cohen’s testimony before a U.S. congressional committee?

  5. Ronald O'Dowd says:

Now wouldn’t it be a gas if the fix was already in, even before the shit hit the fan about being London bound? Who does that make the patsy?

  6. Mark says:

Just some context for your readers. BC’s Colin Gabelmann was indeed our AG for a time in the 1990’s, but never went to law school and was never a lawyer.

  7. Vancouverois says:

And this morning, Lametti seems to be paving the way to reverse JWR’s decision and force the DPP to negotiate a DPA – which will surely result in her resignation. Unbelievable.

They’re really going all-in in an effort to brazen this one out. Even if it forces the RCMP to investigate, apparently.

    • Ronald O'Dowd says:

      Vancouverois,

If they reverse the No DPA, they are done and can forget my vote.

You can take this comment to the bank.

      • Max says:

You’re really goin’ out on a limb there O’Dowd! If they reverse the DPA, that’s going too far, eh? But if they stop now, you’ll give ’em just one more chance??

        • Ronald O'Dowd says:

          Max,

How many elections did I quite literally force myself to vote CPC, after trying to give Harper the heave-ho in 2005? Answer: twice until I left for the Liberals in 2009.

And yes, I proudly was with Carol Jamieson.

      • Vancouverois says:

Ronald O’Dowd, I will hold you to that!

        • Ronald O'Dowd says:

          Vancouverois,

I may have become a Liberal but I’ll never become a fool. If they pull that stunt after all this, there’s no way on earth that I’ll vote Liberal.

P.S. Had enough of Couillard’s performance previously and did not vote Liberal either. Did not vote for Legault as he’s one breath away from becoming once again a sovereignist, IMHO.

          • Ronald O'Dowd says:

            Vancouverois,

Kind of ironic eh, given my view of the old man’s 1982 so-called Constitution.

But you know my views better than most.

          • Vancouverois says:

            Do I? I’m afraid it’s been so long that I don’t remember offhand… πŸ™

          • Ronald O'Dowd says:

            Vancouverois,

We had wonderful tussles over the Clarity Act, 50% +1!

In short, all the good stuff.

(It was great fun to see you and our host on the same Clarity side.)

          • Vancouverois says:

Ah, right! I was deeply involved in all that stuff. And I’m afraid it may all come up again…

I’m concerned over Scheer (and Singh’s) plans to hand tax collection completely over to the province – that’s the next unity battle, as far as I’m concerned. Especially as this scandal is making it all the more likely that the Liberals will not have a majority after October, and it may actually go ahead…

          • Vancouverois,

Taxation transfer is more for show. Nobody really cares about it in my circle.

But the one that’s really biting in exclusive control of immigrants. That’s where Legault is being excessively clever. As you know, I don’t trust him further than I can blink. His true colours are ahead…but when?

  8. Sean says:

Before he was elected Rae Herad told me ( I think I have this right) that Trudeau surrounded himself with the very worst advisers. He also said that Justin had his mother’s brain and not to expect to see any if the brilliance we saw in his father.

As a liberal in exile, I shall return to the fold if we can get rid of Trudeau and company.

    • Ronald O'Dowd says:

      Sean,

Take it from someone who has been there. Had I stayed in the CPC, it would have been a complete waste of time, going forward.

      • Walter says:

        Agree with you Ronald.

No matter how corrupt the Liberals and how good the CPC, it is clear that the media, and the naive public, will always flock back to the Liberals. It does appear to be a waste of time campaigning for what is right.

        • Ronald O'Dowd says:

          Walter,

My comment was only on the status of an exile. Voters are always right: they refused to take shit in 2006. Refused to take new shit in 2015 AND will refuse to take the LATEST shit in October.

Translation: Scheer gets in, at minimum, with a minority.

  9. Leo Fleming says:

Given the scope of this and the number of people involved, and the clear and obvious direction from the PMO, I would think that this also rises to the level of Conspiracy 465.1(c).

  10. Gord says:

It would have been nice to see Allan Rock, Anne McLellan, Martin Cauchon and Irwin Cotler add their names to this list to make it a little less partisan.
