Do you really believe someone who, by his own admission, has lead a life of entitlement, can change in three weeks?

I think it’s an act and Justin is busy learning a new set of lines.

We will see if he is able to again shut down the ethics committee and the justice committee. Looking forward to hearing JWR speak. Looking forward to hearing Butts and Trudeau testify before those committees. But I won’t hold my breath that it will happen.

We will see if he continues to fly a lot to vacation whilst telling the rest of us to cut back our CO2 emissions.

We will see how much power is taken from the PMO and returned to cabinet ministers and parliamentarians.

He’s like a child who got caught being bad. He’s gone quiet till the praise restarts and the old Justin will be back.

    In the next 18 months:

    1. Will they get the deficit under control? Will they even have a plan?
    2. Will the mythical middle class be any better off?
    3. Will Canada be taken seriously on the international stage?
    4. Will Canada achieve any environment goals?
    5. Will university / college grads have any better chance at a full time permanent job?
    6. Will anyone but the affluent be able to afford houses?
    7. Will Canada Post workers have a better deal?
    8. Will we have a cabinet that can be taken seriously?
    9. Will Native Communities be any better off?

No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No.

Will filthy construction gangsters get whatever the hell they want?

    Yes.

      Excellent questions!

    • Pedant says:

Any action on foreign money laundering inflating property prices in the big cities? Assuming no, since the selfish Boomers who bought houses 30 years ago like it that way.

      • Nick M. says:

Boomers only had to pay 1.8% for CPP at our age. This year we will be 5.25%. And the fund is overfunded much to everyone’s denial, and operational cost of the CPPIB grows much faster than the growth of the portfolio.

The price of real estate in Vancouver and Toronto wouldn’t be so high if they didn’t enact the green zone policies years ago and choke off supply. Vancouver it was under the first ever NDP government in the 70’s, and in Ontario it was the green bealt.

  4. Nick M. says:

Has his communique with his buddy been severed?

    One can only hope.

  5. Ted says:

His father had a similar experience when I read our history, which never repeats but often rhymes.

PM is a tough serious job. JC was ready to be PM because of his previous long service to our nation.

The Trudeaus on the other hand, came to politics and leadership from a different direction.

So let’s all hope this is a good thing and not a bunch of handlers with too much to say,

    Warren
It’s a fact that you are a pundit.
I define a pundit as someone with enough credibility to be given a public platform and get paid to do so.
As to the “behaviour” in question, I will continue to call it an act.
Second point, there is an old adage that until someone wins a majority the election is not over.
This is a continuation of the campaign and the facade of “humble conciliatory fella” will fall apart when parliament resumes. On that day the talking point will be how uncooperative everyone else but Justin is.
That talking point will start the day before the House sits as a warning from the media of how the opposition have to play nice after Justin has “demonstrated his good faith”.
    Ain’t buying the act.
As a matter of fact I will quote you Warren.
    He’s a lying hypocrite.

    • Shane Dunworth Crompton says:

He has not changed. His cabinet demonstrates that: ignoring West and shutting out Conservatives who won c half vote! Thats not “conciliatory”

  7. Fred from BC says:

Id love to assume that maturity finally caught up to him, but a more likely scenario is that the senior Liberals put the fear of God into him (“straighten up and fly right, or you’ll be replaced”).

  8. Derek Pearce says:

You yourself offered mild praise of his cloistered M.O. so since the election so I’m a bit surprised that you’re surprised.

  9. Lawrence Barry says:

Jesus – I’d hide out too if I steered the train wreck he is responsible for. And Sophie still on that milk carton? How times change.

  10. Ronald O'Dowd says:

I have zero faith in Justin Trudeau but will admit that their PR is on the right track: the Trans Mountain expansion is now underway — a good first step.

But the rubber will really hit the road on SNC and the minority parliament’s level of accountability for Trudeau and all those working in his PMO. This is the make-or-break issue as regards Trudeau’s born-again credibility. He will have to walk the walk, not just talk the talk. If Trudeau changes course, he will be on his way to a likely political resurrection. If not, it’s will be just the best example of Justin Trudeau, same old-same old.

  11. PAM LEVY says:

I just have to watch the video where our Prime Minister (curly hair) “I was born to or for this”. Creepy.

  12. Mike says:

What a motley collection of cynical conservative commenters you have here. I’d like to know what contributions they’ve made to society. I’d bet most of them would prefer Trump to Trudeau.

    • Ronald O'Dowd says:

      Mike,

Good thing you’re not a betting man, eh? I will only speak for myself, being an actual Liberal Party member and previous supporter of this government.

Our illustrious Prime Minister has to demonstrate that HE has actually changed HIS cynical ways — and the only way to legitimately do that is to come clean before the House Ethics and Justice Committees on SNC. But I know Justin better than he knows himself so I already know that he positively won’t do that. He won’t testify before those two committees (same decision as before) and will not allow anyone formerly, or presently, in his PMO to testify. THAT’s the real Justin Trudeau, re-elected, or not re-elected. To borrow from his Dad, Just Watch Him…and don’t expect to be surprised.

      • Mike says:

Are you for real? After that b.s. Railroading he took before would even consider it. Totally bogus scandal. Cons would have done the same as he did as would any other party in government.
P.s. I don’t think he has to change a damn thing.
